I've just added "HeadgearGlasses" to the HeroMachine 3 Alpha. Here's a quick snapshot of some of the new items:
I tried to make all of the lenses "color2" without a color1 underneath them so you can get semi-transparent effects. I also set the pattern areay to be just the lenses, since the frames for most of them are so tiny.
Let me know if you wanted a specific style of glasses that didn't make it, and I'll see what I can do.
Also, let me know what you want me to work on next. Barring any clear consensus otherwise, I'll probably either do Neckwear next (either as a stand-alone slot or as a set under Tops) or some additional "Item" sets like polearms, bows, etc.

Can you add a Hockey goalie mask?
Quick question…creating females is a bit buried, you have to dig around to find the correct stuff for them (arms/legs, etc.), I’m curious as to why it was done this way instead of giving them their own categories. Thanks!

Yes, I know I got a little “carried away” there, but I really love glasses. Personally, I’ve used glasses all of my life and would like to have some variety to choose from in Heromachine 3.

@Mon: As the FAQ says, I am doing an entire set of items for the first body (which happens to be male) before converting them to the second, female body. This is the same process I used on HM2. And 1 for that matter.

My suggestion would be to move on to bows and polearms, etc. I’ve got a character with a quiver of arrows and no bow. The dude needs his bow! 🙂 But I’ll be happy with whatever you do.
Also, you asked me to remind you to add a row of ribbons, such as you might find on a military officer’s dress uniform, to the insignia set. This is your gentle reminder (TM).
Hey Jeff, I’m having fun with the H3Alpha stuff so far. Thanks. A couple of requests from my side include doing more melee items next (Polearms, blunts, bows, etc.) as I have a couple of characters who use these items, and can’t pull off the effect without them. Thanks.
I’d also like to put in my vote for alternate body types like the metal, hirsute, faceted, etc.
Perhaps some more fantasy-style items? To augment the selection we already have, and even out the slight disparity with the impressive array of tech and sci-fi items.
As a side note, riding on Mon’s coattails as it were, how’s the female set coming? I don’t say this to rush anyone, I’m just curious on how this important feature is progressing.
Neckwear should be done next.
I think I may have detected a bug. When I try to print my character, it just prints a little of the edge. Hope that helps.

No good timeline for the female yet Iago. I have an artist lined up to draw the basic figure, but really it depends on when I get the rest of the items converted for the male and can make the switch.

@Paul: Well, it’s HALF A goalie mask, in the Hannibal Lector mode. If you want a full one I should probably do a Sports set as someone suggested.

Is it possible for you to add a WW1 fighter pilot helmet and goggles? You had it in HM2.5 but it didn’t get converted over.
@Paul: If I am remembering correctly (which is not a given), I think that helmet is in “ModernCommon” or something. I’ll be converting those over at some point, I just wanted to specifically knock out Masks as it used to be a separate slot, and then I already had the glasses done for the Facemaker so I wanted to include those as well. I think I need to move on to more “items” at this point, they’re probably the most under-represented in terms of the total number that were in 2.x vs what I have already in 3.0.

@chase: How would they fit on the screen? How would you put a character in them? There’s just not room.

I don’t know if this has been brought up yet or not, but since you updated the hands, one of the older hands has not worked. The hand with the square on the top WITH the covered fungers (1st page regular, 3rd row, first slot) comes up as a plain uncovered hand instead of what it is. It also is unable to be colored. Just a little heads up about this glitch.
I think u should do other weapons like you said polearms or bows.

I wanted to let you know that I am having trouble with the save feature. When I reload characters it either 1)loads up with all the layers screwed up or 2) The character loads up with many parts missing and the layers screwed up.
I also have objects getting stuck to where I can’t move them or delete them. teh only thin I can do is change all the colors to white and drop them to teh back layer.
Thanks Paul, I am aware of the save and load problem, it’s still fairly buggy.

I also noticed a printing eror that wasn’t there before. I was previously able to print to PDF with no problem, but now when I do it the page is blank. When I save to a jpeg or png file it looks like it is saving in far upper left hand corner and the picture is really small. I haven’t tried to print to an actual printer yet but I assume the same problem will happen as did with the pdf file.
I am not sure what to say Paul, I just tried it and it’s working properly here. Try clearing your browser cache maybe?
Meaning I tried it online, the public version, not the one on my local machine. I am using Firefox on a Mac.

i cleared out the cache and the cookies and now all my saved characters are gone. I thought that wasn’t supposed to happen?
Uh oh. Sorry about that Paul, the information I had said that the Flash cookies absolutely wouldn’t be erased by clearing the cache … oh dear. I think I need to go try this again.
