Thank you Herr D. I hope you get your computer issue resolved soon.

This costume is kind of inspired by Marvel’s new Alpha Flight uniforms (Captain Marvel’s new book is one of my favourites) but there’s also been this image of a costume stuck at the back of my mind for a while now and I can’t even remember if it’s something I just made up in my head or if I saw something that just stuck in my mind so I feel like I may have subconsciously ripped off another design. But in either case, I wanted to try my hand at this costume and I’m quite pleased with the results.

Very Very Preliminary Work.

PURPLE HEART – ex US Military and recipient of said medal who gained some form of power on his last tour of duty and has decided to use it for good whilst paying homage to his background / origin. Two base versions, military green with purple and gold or the alternate with purple and gold insignia but purple and white gear referencing the medal’s ribbon.

Would really love to see someone do something brilliant with this either as own take or as art trade as I am stumped for ideas right now.

I had to touch it up, because some of the shapes you used to create the hat were blocking the background.  What do you think?  My first submission to this Forum.

@Keric: Thanx! @RomPh: Nice blurbage on that.

I’ll be peekin’, but the trouble is, I gotta get off each computer too fast to design and make anything.

yeah I find DA inspirational when I’m in a rut too.

That said, I would LOVE to see what you could do with my latest creation Purple Heart as I think it doesn’t do justice to the inspiration and I am stuck – maybe as a trade with my version of one of your chosen characters?

Glad you like it, PMD.  Cheers!

Something I was just putting together.  Had the pose, but didn’t really come up with a solid concept.

This old woman can be seen wondering the camp grounds of Claiborne Lake. She only comes up on those who are camping alone and collects their skulls.

Thanks a lot! But I really don’t think that your work is all too “amateurish” – I for one like it. 😉

If you look at my characters from when I first posted here (almost exactly 3 years ago), you can see that they didn’t look much different to yours.

I may have improvd a lot since then by just experimenting with items, but I still struggle with fancy poses and it took me what felt like ages to get a grip on “zypping”. Alas, there are still many guys/gals here whose greatness I’ll probably never achieve – just look at DJubys last masterpiece. *sigh*

As regarding the topic “design”: I get a lot of inspiration by browsing through other peoples artwork over at DeviantArt and of course from the works of my fellow ‘machiners. 😀

Anyways …
