Toying around with a devilish idea...

Deville-Cover(Variant)

Story:
Thelma Deville was a Victorian prostitute. Due to a botched ritual sacrifice where she was to be the victim, she gained vampiric abilities, such as immortality, super-strength, durability, and stamina. She does not have the blood lust but is even more empowered when she comes into contact with blood. Good and evil are relative to her, and she does whatever she wills.

I plan on two other covers, each with more clothing, but I haven't decided if I will develop a story. It would definitely be bent toward horror.

Vulcan, also known as Hephaestus, is the forge master of The Mortal Gods and is largely responsible for most of their advanced tech.

Before becoming aware of his past life as a god, Edward Parks served with distinction in the military as an engineer, serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was widely applauded as arguably the best engineer around and someone you would be lucky to have backing you up in battle. Unfortunately, Eddie's time in the military was cut short when he and his team were hit by an I.E.D.

The rest of his team died but Eddie survived...Barely.

Losing both legs and with most of his body and face badly burned, it seemed Eddie's time in battle was over.

Shipped back to America, he received the best treatment possible to recover from his injuries thanks to a mysterious benefactor. After over a year of rehab, he finally met this mysterious benefactor who turned out to be none other than Juno of the Mortal Gods.

The Olympus Group had but their wealth and power behind Eddie's recovery and Juno explained that she thought Eddie could be one of their own. A god lost among the mortals. Eddie was initially sceptical. After all, what kind of god could he be in his current state?

"One of the best." was Juno's answer.

Eddie was given access to all of the Mortal Gods services and named as the new head of the Olympus Group's science and research department by Jupiter who knew all too well of his inventive skills. Access to the best toys available quickly sparked Eddie's imagination and one of the first things he built were a pair of robotic legs. The procedure to affix them to his body was painful and dangerous but ultimately successful and Eddie could finally walk again.

Adopting the name Vulcan, Eddie soon became an integral part of the Mortal Gods operations and earned the trust and respect of the other gods, thanks in no small part to his wry sense of humour.

Unfortunately, the years since have been hard on Vulcan. He has grown more and more angry at a world he sees as toxic. People aggravate him greatly and he does his best to seclude himself away in his workshop for long periods of time.

Jupiter's death during the Terminus invasion was particularly tough on an already bitter and angry Vulcan. The other gods, Mercury especially, often attempts to drag their friend out of his melancholy but they are finding it increasingly difficult.

Vulcan is still loyal to the Mortal Gods (mostly to Athena) but some believe that if his downward spiral continues, there may be no coming back from it.

When the secret of the Goliath Serum was stolen by the Oliver siblings, Tori Lannock was put in a very tough spot, the thing she had been relying on to be a superhero was now being used against her. Fortunately, the Oliver's hadn't sold off the formula, just the serum they had, so Tori and her father Matt (formerly the superhero Goliath Man) decided that the best way to deal with the situation was to destroy all the remaining serum and the formula, to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands again. With the help of her A Division team-mates, Tori managed to track down all of the people the Oliver's had sold the serum to and recover the stolen property, before finally defeating The Domiantor and putting the Oliver siblings behind bars. Knowing that losing her access to the Goliath Serum would mean an end to her days as a superhero, Tori took the drastic step of copying how her team-mate Antaeus got his powers and drank the last remaining vial of serum. The effect was almost identical to what happened to him, her body gained almost a full foot in height and her muscularture is now constantly hyper-charged. Whereas before she could lift up to 10 times what would be normal for a woman of her size and weight, she can now lift over 100 times what should be possible. However, she is having some trouble adjusting to the changes to her body and has become quite clumsy with physical interactions with normal, everyday situations (the A Division base has seen its repair budget eaten through almost thrice as quickly as anticipated since her transformation). Also, she's had to give up her position as a new recruit trainer, as there's now no guarantee she isn't going to kill someone just demostrating basic self-defence.

My CDC Entry #1 for this week!

The Mad Hatter. No one knows what or who he...it is. The Mad Hatter is of unknown origin and talks in rhyme and tongue twisters to confuse anyone within the Mad Hatter's presence. His intensions are unknown so it is always in question whether he is good or evil. To further question the Mad Hatter's existence, when his hat is damaged, it leaks a bizarre energy or entity that smells of sweet honey. No one knows what happens when the hat is removed because when it is, there is no memory left to recall. The Mad Hatter is quite the complex and ever bizarre entity that can't be explained as human, angel, demon, god, or cosmic creature. Beware the Mad Hatter.

This is the silver age version of the Man of the Future (what should his name be).

He was a billionaire who made his fortune on technology, and who grew up loving stories of the original Man of the Future. He had already been working on a suit that could make someone a one-man army when his headquarters was invaded by Soviet agents seeking the prototype. To drive them away, he donned the suit, thus becoming the second Man of the Future (1960).

He spent the rest of the decade collaborating with other heroes and fighting the Soviets and Chinese. Then, in 1970, his entire company crashed. He lost all of his money, and thus his suit, and fell into alcoholism. Eventually, he was able to rebuild some of his lost wealth, but not enough to recreate the suit, and even if he could afford it he was no longer fueled by the optimism he had once had. He also had witnessed poverty and other societal problems first hand, and thus he became the vigilante "Whisper," so called because of his favored weapons: darts and arrows, hence criminals he shot heard nothing but a whisper and saw nothing but a blur as they died.

This Man of the Future can fly, has enhanced strength, and can shoot bullets from his wrists, and has other tools as well (he's basically a flying, weaponized, high-tech Swiss army knife.) In 1964, he upgraded his suit with alien technology to shoot beams from the hands and be able to fly into space.
