Jayme Lankford was a singer in a struggling alt rock band called Witchling doing shows along the east coast. Outside of Providence, Rhode Island, Jayme ad her band were setting up for a gig when she got sick. She laid in bed until the show started and then went onstage to do the show. The combination of flashing lights, stage smoke, and the music caused her GorWol trait to fully manifest and she lost control of her powers. She burned the bar down by mistake and when emergency responders came to assist they saw Jayme with green fire coming from her hands and eyes. They attacked her out of fear and she slew them in anger. The hero Warmage showed up and fought her until she fled the area. Jayme was found by villain Demonmancer who helped her control her powers. She eventually left Demonmancers side and was last seen working with Gog. Witchling is an ergokinetic. She can generate a green fire energy which she calls her “Hellfire”. She can shoot her hellfire at targets or to create a personal shield. Her hellfire energy also weakens anything it comes into contact with, living organisms and inanimate objects. This can cause living beings to get sick and eventually perish given enough exposure or cause inanimate objects to crumble and break.
Delber Johnson was a career criminal in New Mexico when he was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. He killed two inmates during the seven years he was already in prison when he was broken out via teleportation by unknown means. Delber was strapped to a lab table and experimented on until his GorWol trait was activated. He awoke and found himself dressed in a lightweight yet durable suit of armor and holding lance which shoots energy beams. Calling himself Powerlance, Delber went on a crime spree until Guardian and Illuminator of the American Watch confronted him outside of Dallas, Texas. Losing the fight Delber was teleported out of police custody with his armor and lance and has not been seen since. Powerlance appears to be a minor biokinetic having slightly enhanced reflexes, strength and endurance. His armor and lance are made of an unknown metal which is very strong. The armor provides him with good resistance to attacks and the lance shoots an energy beam which can punch through concrete.
Janessa Canizales was a Brazilian secretary/semi-pro surfer living in Florianapolis when a particularly violent undertow pulled her under for 5 minutes while surfing. Rushed to the hospital she was later released after doctors found nothing wrong with her and her family declared it a miracle. In reality her GorWol trait manifested, but was of such a low power nothing was noticed. A few months later Janessa was walking to work when she was swooped up from the ground by Superbeast who took her to a secret hideout in the tri-border region. There Janessa was strapped to a lab table and experimented on by an unknown scientist until her GorWol trait was increased. After that her mind was wiped and she was given the memories of a life long hardened criminal. She was outfitted with special gauntlets that helped her augment and control her powers and when set free, she became a criminal alongside Superbeast and Gog under the name of Gauntlet. Gauntlet is an ergokinetic. She has slightly increased strength (1 ton), resistance, endurance and reflexes. When harnessing her bioenergy through her gauntlets her strength and resistance increase by a factor of 25; she can lift up to 25 tons through energy manifestations and also generates a protective energy shield around her body. She creates large duplicates of her hands and sometimes her arms that are made up entirely of hardened energy. She can operate these manifestations as if they were her own hands. This only happens when she has her gauntlets on.
Linda Nealson was a popular international model but having trouble finding employment in her waning years as she hit 35. Younger models were grabbing the top shows and Linda found herself continually relegated to smaller side venues. Doing a store catalog clothing shoot in Austria Linda was despondent when the store company chose a younger model the cover after having once promised to Linda. Linda was fuming and after work hours in a fit of rage she attacked her younger competition when the younger model mocked Linda’s upcoming birthday. Fleeing from the scene and pursued by police Linda hid in an old mining tunnel near the hotel. Scared, injured and alone, Linda cried herself to sleep thinking her life was over. She spent two days in a coma and emerged from the cave a changed woman as her GorWol trait manifested and transformed her into a being with spider like powers. Her first act was to track the younger model down at the local hospital and finish the job she started. After killing the model Linda fought off the local police and fled the area. She was found by Deacon Kurst who smuggled her back to the US and gave her a job in his organization as an enforcer under the name Lady Arachna. Linda fought the heroes Warmage, Vikka, Solarra and Killer Bee. Lady Arachna is a therianthropic and possesses spider like powers. She has increased strength (5 ton range), reflexes, durability and can discharge strong and sticky webbing from her hands. This webbing can trap opponents and multiple applications can immobilize super strong targets (she once stopped Army Ant from breaking free using just her webbing). She also has four spider legs protruding from her backside and can use them to scale walls, attack her opponents or block incoming attacks.
Phillip Laval was born to a Saskatchewan mother and a Quebecois father and considered himself of pure Canadian stock. He joined the Canadian military after high school serving in the Canadian Light Infantry. He soon became the best soldier, then NCO in his unit and was selected for Officer training due to his high aptitude scores and record. He accepted a commission in the Canadian Infantry Branch and volunteered to serve in the Canadian Airborne Regiment. While he was a good officer to his platoon he chaffed under the command of officers he considered poor in thought and execution. He transferred to the Canadian Special Operations Regiment but while he still excelled in the field, he still had discipline problems with his superiors and almost considered leaving the military. A friend in the Canadian Intelligence Branch convinced him to take time off to pursue academic interests. He spent two years completing a Masters of International Relations at Brock University then volunteered for JTF2. He excelled as a team leader in JTF2 and served in Afghanistan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Kenya. It was in Kenya where he was shot by Mungiki terrorists and almost died. His GorWol trait manifested and helped him heal from grievous wounds which brought him to the attention of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. He was reassigned to a secret program to make the ultimate Canadian soldier. After two years of research, experiments and training Phillip was unveiled as the Canadian Shield, protector of Canada. Phillip is a biokinetic. He has increased strength and can lift 15 tons, increased reflexes and has slightly increased durability and healing. He is a trained special forces soldier and is an excellent combatant, tactician and marksman. He is armed with two obdurium buckler shields strapped to his forearms which he uses to deflect attacks. He also wears twin 9mm pistols and a combat shotgun. He is ambidextrous and can speak multiple languages (English, French, Russian, German).
Brian O’Brian was a street smart, but not a book smart kid living in NY. He was always getting into trouble, but nothing major or dangerous. His last year of high school he ended up with a fever and almost died. After he recovered he was suddenly more athletic. He lettered in football and baseball eventually getting an athletic scholarship to play football at a local community college. A friend of his in college ran a debt up with a local bookie who told Brian to throw the next game to pay off the debt. Brian refused and won the game, in stellar fashion. Later that evening Brian was framed for the murder of his friend who was killed by associates of the bookie. Unable to overcome the staged evidence Brian was sent to 20 years in prison for the murder. In prison Brian was attacked but successfully defended himself after watching a self defense video the day before. Slowly Brian realized if he saw a physical act executed, he could mimic the act with almost a 90% success rate. This kept him alive in prison for three years as he was targeted by other inmates associated with the bookie. During a prison riot, Brian defended a visiting District Attorney from harm and helped the guards recover the prison. To thank Brian for the help the District Attorney spent a year overturning the guilty verdict and helped Brian become a free man. Brian visited the bookie and his thugs, beat them up and left them all wrapped up nicely for the police he called. He then embarked on a career as the vigilante called Sentinel, eventually joining the American Watch after they lost a brutal fight against Col Stanislav and his Sinisquad. Sentinel possesses photographic physical reflexes. If he sees a physical act occur, he can mimic the act almost to perfection. The reflexes stay in-bedded in his brain for up to 24 hours, sometimes longer if the act is not very difficult. Every morning Brian watches a Krav Maga video, Kendo video, a shooting video and an acrobatic video. He is usually armed with a variety of firearms and a katana. Brian is also a minor biokinetic and is at peak levels in human physical conditioning.
Carlo Moretti was a mild mannered mason in Rome living a quiet life. He saved up money to take a vacation to England which was a life long dream. Flying over the Channel in a sudden storm, Carlo’s plane was struck by lightning and immediately plunged into the waters below. Carlo was the only survivor as his GorWol trait manifested and he used his powers to escape. Taken back to Italy by Italian government security, Carlo was examined and determined he possessed meta powers. He was offered and accepted a position as the Italian Meta Champion. He spent over a year training with the Carabinieri Special Operations Group and the Italian 9th Parachute Assault Battalion, changing from a timid nobody to a hardened anti-terrorist/special forces soldier. He now deploys to confront threats to Italian national security within Italy and locally throughout the Mediterranean as Praetorian. Praetorian is an ergokinetic. He can generate a green hued energy fire from his arms. He can shoot the energy from his hands at targets, use it to heal his own wounds, and use it to fly for short periods by projecting the energy behind him. He is also super strong and is able to lift 20 tons and has improved durability. He was trained by the finest Italian commandos and law enforcement personnel in hand to hand, weapons, tactics, investigations and anti-terrorism. He is outfitted with Roman style armor and gladius, mostly for ceremonial purposes.
Vegard Halvesen was a minor civil office worker in Lillehammer, Norway who was a local attraction since he stood 6’10” and participated in regional strongman competitions. One fall while taking a hike in the nearby mountains Vegard came upon a poor family struggling to move a fallen tree off of their roof. He stopped to help them and used his height to brace the tree while the others tied the tree off with counterweights. Suddenly another tree started to fall and Vegard noticed the tree would fall on the family’s toddler who was playing nearby. Vegards heart raced and he reached out to alter the path of the tree when his GorWol trait manifested and he grew in size catching the tree in his arms. Vegard saved the child and became a national hero. The Norwegian government recruited him to act as a national hero focusing on assisting in natural disasters (floods, avalanches) and rescues under the name of Jotun. Vegard is a biokinetic and can increase in size, strength and durability. At his normal height of 6’10” Vegard can lift 10 tons. At his maximum height of 21′ Vegard can lift roughly 40 tons. His durability also increases when he alters his size.
Allie Chastain was a typical housewife and stay at home mother in rural Georgia raising two kids. All this ended one day on a family vacation to Florida when at a gas stop Dark Cabal members were fighting ISF Team ALPHA nearby. The gas station blew up because of the fighting between Baateezu and Baal and Allie’s husband and children were caught in the explosion as she was away throwing out trash. Losing her mind as a result of the experience Allie was committed to Georgia’s Central State Hospital, a sanitarium, and she blamed the death of her family on the ISF and mentally descended into chaos. She spent a year confined to a straight jacket all but abandoned by her remaining family. One day when the villain Witchling was escaping from the sanitarium after capture Allie helped her escape by knocking over some guards behind Witchling. Believing she could be of some use Witchling brought Allie with her. When Witchling was recruited by Gog, Allie was brought along. Gog’s mysterious benefactor conducted experiments on Allie and changed her genetic code to give her meta abilities. Allie was then programmed to be Nightslayer, an assassin, and given two energy blades. She was also hypnotically re-programmed with extreme fighting abilities. Currently Nightslayer serves as the benefactors main assassin and enforcer after Gog. Allie is the first known meta human without the GorWol trait. She was given the meta abilities of super reflexes and rapid healing through scientific means. She can recover from gunshots in minutes, broken bones in hours and severed limbs in days. Her agility and reaction time are at peak levels. She is equipped with two energy swords that can carve through most objects. These swords can also deflect some energy attacks. She is trained in a fighting style that most world experts believe to be a hybrid style since it is unrecognizable. She is a dangerous opponent. Even Hooligan tends to avoid her.
Charles Florestan was born into a wealthy family in Monaco. He grew up in luxury and eventually drifted to Formula One racing as his means of occupation. His family also purchased a Commander position in the Prince’s Company of Carabiniers if he ever decided to leave racing. In his third year as a Formula One race car driver, Charles was involved in an accident doing a timed test run in Italy. The car was completely destroyed in a ball of fire and Charles was found nearby almost unscathed. Everyone assumed he was thrown from the race car before it exploded and Charles was sent to a local hospital for observation. During the night Charles was abducted by Powerlance and Gauntlet. He was secreted to a hidden laboratory in the Alps where a cloaked figure conducted genetic experiments on Charles looking for his GorWol code. The hooded figure managed to isolate Charles’ latent GorWol trait and increased the amount of ions his body produced, allowing Charles to control them in the form of electricity. Charles used his powers to escape and went public with his abilities after finding his way back to Monaco and his family. He took the name Commander Ion and spent over a year with the ISF learning how to control his powers before becoming a full time hero in Europe. Commander Ion continuously generates ions which produce an electric charge he can project or shape with limited success. He can use his ionic charge to fly, shoot ionic beams, create simple shapes using electrical energy (cages, boxes, shields) and resist attacks. A side affect of his manifestation is his loss of all body hair and his skin pigment turning to a shade of light yellow hue.
Percival “Percy” Washington was a small time criminal in the Atlanta area when he was released from prison after time served for grand theft. Finding work at the CDC facility as a janitor Percy was working late one night when CDC scientists accidentally dropped a vial containing an airborne pathogen derived from an asteroid. They shut down the wing of the CDC lab where Percy was cleaning and he was trapped behind the security doors because he had his head phones on and did not hear the alarm. The airborne pathogen attacked his body and he died banging on the security doors begging the scientists to open them and save him. They could not out of security protocols and fear of spreading the contamination. Percy died in front of them and then his body began to mutate due to his GorWol trait manifestation. Percy was reborn into a being with tremendous energy powers. His last thought was hatred for the people who allowed him to die so he began destroying the CDC facility when ISF Team DELTA responded. Calling himself Star Nova, he fought them and escaped when he caused structural damage to the facility and forced the ISF team to rescue civilians still trapped inside. Star Nova then went on a rampage killing people he believed wronged him throughout his life; family members, police, competitors, etc. After a prolonged fight with members of the American Watch Star Nova fled and hid. His current whereabouts are unknown. Star Nova can generate, absorb and control cosmic microwave radiation left over from the big bang. This energy provides him with increased strength (20 ton range), durability, flight, and endurance. He can fly in a vacuum unaided and can project powerful cosmic bolts. He can absorb other forms of energy and convert them into his cosmic microwave radiation energy. He seems to be unaffected by extreme cold, heat, fire and radiation. His power is on par with Doctor Dimento, Lord Psyker, Gilgamesh and Stargazer making him one of the most powerful meta humans on Earth.
