I’m new to this whole thing, so it’d be appreciated if you could give me some tips and tricks on how to do this stuff.

If you’re looking for tips and tricks, there’s a whole section about that sort of thing in the Art Gallery. Or, alternatively, if you see something in someones gallery that you wonder how they did, just ask. People are usually quite happy to let other know how they did things.

Welcome and I like the moonsinger. I love his color scheme, I don’t see it that often and it looks great on him.

Tips and tricks! Go to the ‘how-to’ section and check out masking. Masking weapons to hands makes it look like the hands are holding the weapons and not just hovering in front of them.

2nd: Backgrounds /shapes item–last shaded circle, color 1 and 3 to 0%–for shadows, fades, lighting.

Experiment with color and those two and you’re well on your way to knowing everything I know.
