Sorry this wasn't up on Saturday guys, I've had a rough couple of days with IRL stuff and I haven't had a chance to actually watch the episode until today.
Anyway, on with the review.

Well, that has to be the most decisive CDC win we've ever had. Overall there were 194 votes cast for this poll and our winner received 109 of them, which is a bit of Overkill actually 😉 and a bit unfair on the other contestants IMO, but y'all voted not me. I also believe its the first time anyone has achieved over 100 votes in a CDC poll, which is not bad going. So congratulations to Vectorman316 whose piece Samurai Fight Scene was this weeks steamroller. Make sure you speak to dblade about you prize.

I fear I would be neglecting my duty if I didn't showcase this picture for this weeks COTW, even though it was originally posted last friday, just before the last COTW went up. But, technically, I pre-schedule these posts the day before, so I couldn't have featured it last week, so I can feature it this week. So for those of you who missed it, here's Candruth's latest piece of Art.
Anyone remember that amazing portrait SeanDavidRoss did for the faces contest a couple of years back? It's in the Hall of Fame, so if you don't, go find it. This piece reminds me of that, and that is very high praise indeed. There's not very much to the picture apart from the shading/ lighting, so that's what draws your eyes. And it just looks gorgeous. Ok there are some messy bits, some of the shading does spill over into the eyes, but the lighting looks so natural and realistic that it doesn't seem to matter so much. The attention to detail is stunning. It took me a few minutes to realise "hey hang on, there's something going on with those eyes, I don't remember seeing eyes with pupils like that in heromachine before". And I was right. Canruth has actually done minute dots of colour and shade in the pupils, which just adds that much more depth to the look of the piece. Even those little fleshy bits in the corner of the eye that no-one knows what they're called (in before someone says it in the comments) look like they've been shaded. And there's the extra bottom lashes. And the shading around the cheek bones. I'd hate to think how long this whole thing took, or how many layers the final piece came to. Well done Candruth.

Ok guys, what I want you to do for this weeks contest is create a team of some sort. It can be any kind of team you want, superhero team, sports team, army corp, music band etc. but I must insist that it consists of 2 or more recognisably individual members and that they be identifiable as a team by means of either a shared logo/ motif or by a shared colour scheme. Also, all the members must be submitted in one image, they cannot be submitted individually or you will be disqualified. To make this a bit easier, I will allow the user of programs other than heromachine for you to put the team together in one image, and only to put the team together in one image, any other external editing is not allowed.
As per usual, no limits on entries this week and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). The winner gets to claim a custom made item from dblade to be put into heromachine, so long as the item conforms to his prize rules, which you can find here: http://www.heromachine.com/forum/the-heromachine-art-gallery/dblades-whiz-bang-item-dispenser/. Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post pictures and images that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

Ok, I feel some people may not be happy with some of the choices I've made for this weeks poll, or rather some of my choices of entries to leave out. So after the jump I'll explain why I chose these five out of all the entries.

I'm sure some members of the community will be glad to hear that our first "all female" contest wasn't won by the picture with the least clothes or the most "circular emblems and the adolescent vote" showing, but in fact was won by our most dressed entrant with the most blood showing. This weeks winner, claiming his third win I believe, is Stulte for his Maria I Briganza. Congratulations Stulte, please make sure you speak to dblade about your prize, and well done to everyone else who entered, there were so many excellent entries.

So, time for our pseudo-traditional "problem without the Doctor" episode. How does it fare?
