I used to love Firestorm when I was a kid. I can’t remember why, now …

Hey its OK, I thought he was great too.

Love the image. Very sharp facial lines with a flowing fire mane. I had a soft spot for Firestorm when I was a kid, too. Maybe because he was on the superfriends cartoon.

MMI: Yeah, I remember him from comics and cartoons when i was a kid for a while and then…… nothing. he was nowhere to be found after the cartoons went off the air. Hard not to like a guy who can shift molecules and turn people into table salt. I’ll admit that was technically a corrupted (un)dead version of Ronnie as Firestorm, but still pretty badass. Also very douche-tastic of him.

Actually you need to read Brightest Day Volumes 1 & 2. Pretty cool stuff they’re doing with Firestorm in there.

Woot! SOD makes a return. Awesome, Jeff.

Not much of a Firestorm fan myself though.

  5. Worf says:

@Jeff: I bet it was the fire hair 😉

  6. dblade says:

I love fire hair! Yeah, I said it! 🙂

  7. Whit says:

I have him muddled with Red Tornado in my head. Red Tornado was the dude whose psyche was fused with an incorporeal former scientist or something, right?

  8. Jeff Hebert says:

No, you’re thinking of Firestorm, Whit — Dumb high school jock and super smart nuclear professor get fused in an explosion, and the professor is present only as a ghostly floating head.

    Hey, it was the Eighties!

  9. dblade says:

Nope. That’s Firestorm. Red Tornado is an android inhabited by an air elemental (last I checked).

  10. ajw says:

last time i read about him he was like spidey, great powers and one goofy personality

  11. ajw says:

hey i just realized that that drawing is a better polished version of my style, nice to see what I might draw like in the future

  12. puknjay says:

    cool

  13. The Imp says:

I liked Firestorm as a kid too. His costume was just so goofy looking, with those shoulder-pad things, but somehow the whole thing had kind of a cool look to it too.

  14. Brad says:

Hey Jeff, totally off-topic here, have you heard any news concerning inFamous 2? I just figured a superhero game set in New Orleans would really appeal to you, so there’s your notice 😀

  15. Novak says:

What kid wouldn’t like a guy who can make smores on his head?

  16. spidercow2010 says:

Yeah, I can’t help thinking he needs a hat made by Weber. A smaller Smokey Joe lid, with adjustable vents.

  17. punkjay says:

The funny part of Firestorm isis being made up of 2 diffrent people, he’s his pwn side kick lol.

  18. punkjay says:

I would love to see that hemut thingy he wears to be a hm3 add on, just a thaught!

I liked him too. When I was little he was the only super hero action figure I had. I didn’t know who he was at the time.
