For the next few weeks we will be building a team of RPG characters based on the following classes: Warrior/Fighter, Knight/Paladin, Barbarian/Berserker, Monk/Martial Artist, Archer/Ranger, Thief/Rogue/Assassin, Priest/Healer, Mage/Wizard, and finally Summoner/Necromancer/Druid.
Your CDC challenge this week is to create an original Thief, Rogue or Assassin character.
The winning entrant will receive a HM3 version of their character rendered by yours truly.
The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges:
Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters.No characters based on Official RPG NPC's ( Non-Player Characters ). Please keep all submissions PG13. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or whatever);
- Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
- Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).
This contest will close on Monday, June 22th at 6:00pm Eastern
Hi. Follow the ink for my character.
Sorry. This one:

Agent Magpie

(Yes, I reused the Magpie name, but Agent Magpie came first. Pay that no mind.)

Captain Medusa Herring: scourge of the high seas, master of acquisition, dramatic swinger-around of rapiers. So maybe she’s currently without a ship and crew after she tried to swindle – I mean, got swindled by a hag, but that won’t stop her from getting her claws on whatever catches her eye. She might lose it gambling or leave it lying around somewhere afterward, but hey, it’s the thrill of the hunt that counts.

DAMIAN BLACKPOOLE

Born in the slums of Kaiphur on Ghoraja-Juun, Damian is one of, if not the most talented thieves in the city. Surprisingly he is almost always broke.
Many of his colleagues/rivals think him slightly crazy, he often is found speaking to someone/something named ‘Scaler’.
Note: ‘Scaler’ is a intelligent knife that Damian recovered from an abandoned temple. The blade is jade-colored and somewhat wavy. A scale pattern is etched in the blade.
Would a bounty hunter be a part of this category or not? A bounty hunter can have all the skills of a thief, rogue, or assassin and will do just about anything to get their hands on money.
Loliss Tusarvith: an assassin drow.

Does the character have to be a “fantasy” (i.e. sword-and-sorcery) character, or can they be more sci-fi?
There is a land plagued by strange portals, through which come even stranger things. But the people, long since used to this phenomenon, have found, partly through ingenuity and partly through necessity or desperation, different uses for it. One such man, a farmer and widower, was renowned for his skill in turning these contraptions into clever farm implements and machines.
However, the people have lately fallen on hard times, and the farmer, tired of working the land and his livestock for increasingly miniscule profits and trying to make ends meet, discovered that a lot of money could be made as a gun for hire. More money than could be made from farming. So the man, who became known only as The Drifter, rounded up his dogs and turned the bushcraft and hunting skills from his years on the land to his advantage and became a bounty hunter and assassin.
Clad in various bits and pieces of clothing and technology he either found, bought, bartered for or stolen, the Drifter sports a nano-tech medical glove which he is using to repair his right hand; the glove is controlled by his belt and the data is received via the small antenna on his special glasses. He has also used his ingenuity and scavenged parts to form weapons such as a bizarre-looking rifle and an even stranger-looking handgun. He also wears an athletic brace and a “moon boot” to support his left leg and foot while they mend. Part MacGyver, part Erron Black, the Drifter is available for hire… but be quick; he doesn’t like to hang around for long.
