OPEN CRITIQUE DAY #39….

Ok, got my coffee...

Le's do this.....

How this goes:  You post a work of yours, finished or WIP, and then I (ams) will give you suggestions or tips on your work.  Just make sure that you only post pictures that are your own design and not any that are copyrighted or based off of copyrighted characters.

Cheers!

Well, since you’re offering, I’d be interested in your opinions on Yofor here.

Okay so this Jalapeno Man I made this character a long time ago, but I never could get him out of my head, he is abousutly my favorite character I created, and I’ve redone his design a lot because I never felt that I got him right. But I think I finally made a good design for him.
He’s an Illegal immigrant superhero from Mexico that uses pepper spray to fight crime, which yeah I know sounds bad on paper and I definitely don’t want him to come off as a racists stereotype but rather a celebration of that culture and a representation of it. I’m not Meixcan myself which is why I’m worried about this.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

This is a great pic! The subject tells a story, the colors are spot on and look at that amazing water effect.

I will make some comments on your pose. I see what you are trying to accomplish, just not entirely there. On the upper part of the body, I find the right arm awkward. Shoulder seems dislocated from the arm. Watch that sword tip which lands right on the edge of the railing. For the lower half, you perspective and proportions need to be tweaked. I like how you masked that companion’s foot .

Hope you are safe and well!
    Cheers!

    Hello, Rekulhs Nathe!

Again, sorry for the delayed response.

Pretty strong design for you character. All the items are tight and fit well together. You even got the red and green equally balanced which sometimes is not an easy thing to do.

    Well done! Stay Safe!
