CDC #454 – Team Building – Volume 3 – Part 11 – Results

Honourable mentions this week go out to...

...AtomicPunk - great pose and facial expression - and...

...Worf - the body position  is really awesome - I just found the rainbow across the chest a bit confusing - just my opinion.

Runners up this week are...

...Kellkin - beautifully simple - love the hair -and...

...Thundersong - love the inclusion of the flag colours - an elegant creature.

And the win this week goes to...

Tartan Panda!

I like this piece for many reasons. First it speaks to the character's ethnicity really well. It comprises not only the colours, but also the shapes of the Jamaican flag. And I love the composition - even though it exceeds the page which usually drives me nuts. The halo as shield is also a cool idea.

Your prize will be posted to the blog later this week.

Thanks to all who entered.

Thanks for the nod, djuby. The pose and expression are based on ams’ pose recipe. Thank you, ams, for your skills and sharing. Curse “autocorrect” and editing software in general for ruining my punchline.

Props to Tartan Panda and all entries. Tartan’s Halo reminds me of HERO System Games’ Champions. The necklace being the “Obvious Accessible Focus.”

I like the frame. Halo is odd print jobs where designs exceeded frame. The GIFs and BMPs of yore that were trimmed because of print space.

  2. Tartan Panda says:

Holy Cow! Thank you very much! I am embarrassed to say that I never even noticed the framing on the final post. I was too caught up with the tough choice on a final color for her leggings. I was worried there wasn’t enough contrast actually. Current events have made me a stay at home father for a bit, so I have a hard time staying focused at times with all the distractions from little kids. I will keep a better eye out for framing next time.

Congrats to Tartan. This was one of several I’ve seen recently with backstories that I wanted to join in on.

AP: Yeah, Elton John DID sort of lend to this, didn’t he?
