The stand alone Joker movie has opened to rave reviews. I have seen it. Spoiler Alert…it is great. I mean Oscar worthy great.

So in honour of the clown prince of crime, we are taking a trip to the circus this week. Your challenge is to create a unique and memorable villain based on characters –except for clowns - traditionally found inhabiting a traditional circus – except for clowns; ie: Ringmaster, side show freaks, strongman, etc. Did I mention no clowns?

The winner this week will receive my version of their design rendered in glorious HM3.

Please follow the instructions below regarding the naming of entries.

Probably a typo on djuby’s part; I think he meant HM3.

I don’t usually submit more than one, but I just had a lot of fun with these ideas so I made two. Much more proud of the first one tho (Double Trouble) but the second one is nice too.

Double Trouble aka Jodi and Julie

Jodi and Julie, conjoined twins, joined the circus when they were young. They were seen as an outcast, an abomination, a monster. They weren’t seen as a person, much less two people. The circus is where they found their home. The circus gave them a place to be accepted by other so-called “abominations.” But of course, the circus was not what it looked like from the outside. The members of the circus weren’t in it to perform, they were in it to get revenge. To destroy all who look down on anyone who is different. It’s only fair, isn’t it?

Bed of Nails aka Ivashov Artemovich

Ivashov was a popular act in Russia. He performed many tricks with his power of creating spikes from his body. He never collected money for his shows, instead, he asked for food for his family. But one day, he was framed for the murder of two young women. The entire village was against him, and in anger, he accidentally killed his family. Now there was no hope for proving his innocence. He fled Russia and eventually found a circus in America that he could call home. Here he defended anyone who was called a freak, and wouldn’t allow for anything to happen to them

Hey, djuby, I’ve decided to change my character “Double Trouble.” Their name is now “Gemini” instead

    GLARING (a group of cats)
Katerina vonHecht – Born into a circus family, Katerina was identified early on as a prodigy in training animals of all types, but particularly cats. She slowly learned that she had cat-like, innate abilities; superior dexterity and agility, heightened vision at night and a powerful empathy with her charges. As she grew older she grew disillusioned with the treatment of the animals. Finally, on her 16th birthday she decided to run away and took some of the larger cats with her.

In her time since fleeing the circus, her appearance has become slightly more feline in appearance; slightly pointed ears, golden glowing eyes, thicker hair on various body parts.

  13. Herr D says:

He was sick of being thought of as a freak. So he perfected looking just like anyone else. He perfected the art of quick change. Then he started practicing arson. True to his circus roots, he went by ‘Rube’ from then on, whether disguised as an ordinary man or woman. Without his special gear, he would NEVER pass for that . . . he’s destroyed most of the records of his appearance. There’s some on a server down the street from you–hey, do you smell smoke?!
