There at night he heard strange noises and was attacked by a creature, lucky on instinct he accidentally generated more bark around his arm which prevented the creature from sinking its jaws into Jason. Upon further inspection, the creature was a human woman with large teeth. Taking her back, Jason realized the woman had gone savage and had no chance of surviving in civilization. Taking it upon himself to reeducate the woman, he dubbed her Bite for her excessive biting powers. Now calling himself Bark, he and Bite work together now as crime fighters using their abilities to help people and fight crime.

    PB & J

In Earth’s far future all of humankind has died off and animal kind has evolved upright and intelligent to become the top of the food chain. Our duo, a Panda Bear and a Jerboa, travel the world and space to fight evil in all forms as part of the military division of Eagle’s Nest, this new world’s United Nations. PB is a no nonsense brute that will get the job done at all costs. J is a stoic and skilled tactician of the gun and blade arts. Together they are PB & J…and have never liked that name.

    Tasmaniac and Tokyo Kitsune

Jack Hughes was an Australian mercenary with a reputation for getting the job done. When one of his jobs lead to him uncovering the names of the leaders of an international crime ring, he was gunned down in the Outback to cover up the crime boss’s identities. As he lay dying an Aboriginal healer found Jack and saved his life by awakening his connection to his spirit animal, the Tasmanian devil, granting Jack the strength to survive while the healer treated his wounds. After recovering Jack found tapping into his anger allowed him to connect to the Tasmanian devil spirit to gain increased strength, durability, and reflexes as well as bestial characteristics such as claws and fangs. Using his newfound powers along with his already impressive skills, Jack set out traveling the world to take down the crime ring and get revenge on his would-be murderers. However, staying in his Tasmanian devil form too long causes him to be overcome by wrath and enter a feral berserk state until he calms back down, earning him the nickname “Tasmaniac.”

While in Japan, Jack fell in love with a woman named Aya Fujiki, but after Aya was nearly killed by assassins sent for Tasmaniac, Jack realized he had to leave her. It was only after he was gone that Aya found out she was bearing his child. Aya named her daughter Hinata and did her best to raise her as a single mother, and while Hinata’s life was never easy, she faced everything with cheerful optimism. Hinata was no ordinary girl. She’d inherited her father’s spiritual link, allowing her to connect with her own spirit animal, the kitsune. The kitsune spirit granted her increased agility and the ability to transform objects. This drew unwanted attention from both bullies at her school, and other unusually empowered entities of various sorts. Never-the-less, Hinata faced these challenges as Tokyo Kitsune with a positive oulook. Even when her mother fell ill. Aya never doubted that Jack had left to protect her, even when he himself wasn’t so sure. She always spoke well of him to Hinata, so After Aya passed away, Hinata tracked down Jack, seeking to reconnect with the father she never knew. While Jack Hughes was not an easy man to find, as a close blood relative, the kitsune spirit allowed Hinata to sense her father’s spirit and trace his location.

While Jack was devastated to learn of Aya’s fate, as well as learning he’d had a daughter he’d never known, he was still reluctant to bring Hinata into his dangerous life. However, the girl was determined and seemed to have a penchant for getting into trouble on her own, so Jack figured he ought to at least show her how to get out of it in one piece. Now the two are learning to be a family, while dealing with Jack’s old enemies and Hinata’s knack for leading the two of them into the truly bizarre.

Calvary Red, that story/character(s) is almost too on the nose to Wolverine and even bits to Daken. Was that purposeful and your take on it?

Calvary Red, kind of Wolverine and Daken story arc…even adding in Hugh Jackman (Australian) type character.

She’s the brains, he’s the brawn. Together, they are the adventuring duo MAXMAN & MICROWOMAN.

It wasn’t deliberate. I thought a ’90’s anti-hero paired with a magical girl would be funny, and then tried to write a story that made that make sense (Why does this guy kill people? Why does this girl want to be around him? Etc…). I wasn’t consciously trying to mimic any particular story, but I didn’t spend a lot of time on it either, so I probably drew more from Wolverine than I meant to. I knew an anti-hero with claws learning he has a child by a now deceased Japanese lover was leaning towards Wolverine, so I specified that the healer had to treat his wounds to indicate he didn’t have a healing factor and tried to aim for common tropes rather than anything too specific. I can revise the story if anyone thinks it risks copyright infringement. A wise man once said “Your story is original and it is good. The problem is the parts that are good aren’t original and the parts that are original aren’t good.”

Calvary Red, kind of Wolverine and Daken story arc…even adding in Hugh Jackman (Australian) type character.

I made him Australian because he’s the Tasmanian Devil (and re-named him Tasmaniac, because DC has a hero named Tasmanian Devil), Though I did name him Jack Hughes as a nod to Hugh Jackman. That seemed permissible.

Eric and Mathias Masterson were born with the ability to form physical constructs, similar to the Lantern power rings, but on a smaller scale. They wear specialized suits to increase their powers.

Eric a.ak.a AEGIS is the powerhouse. He is the protector, the shield. His constructs are shielding, barriers, and percussion weapons.

Mathias a.k.a ATTILA is the headstrong, fighter. His constructs are massive fists, swords, knives, bluntforce, and projectile weapons.

Even though they argue and fight, as most brothers do, they are loyal to the core.
