The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. Please keep all submissions PG13: full or partial nudity is prohibited. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, Deviant Art or whatever);Do not use Photobucket.

  • No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.

This contest will close at noon Eastern on Monday, November 19th.

My entry this week is Changeling.

Laurie Melville always knew she was different. She had a special talent to perceive and manipulate other people’s emotions since she was a child, could communicate with animals as one does with another person, and even read people’s minds sometimes. When she became a teenager, those powers became stronger, and she gained the ability to fly, cast magic and control nature – and strange glowing markings started appearing on her skin.

When she revealed all of that t0o her mother, she learned the truth: she was not her mom’s true child. She wasn’t even human, in fact. She was a Changeling, a fairy raised by humans after replacing a mortal baby. Now all grown up, she began using her magical powers to protect the people of her village from the invisible dangers that wander the Scottish forests, while searching more about her origins to maybe find her birth family.

    Flora Macleod aka Thistle

Flora is a meta-human from the Highlands of Scotland whose power is the psychic ability to cause physical pain. Abused and picked on as a child, when her powers began to manifest, she found that she could cause pain with the merest skin-to-skin touch. At first it was involuntary, rather limiting her love life—no one could bear to touch her—which only added to her problems.

Eventually she attained full mastery of her powers and could, suppress the power, so long as she was comfortable and didn’t fee threatened. Additionally, she was able to cause pain even through clothing. Ultimately, she learned to manifest an throw tiny spines of psychic pain inducing energy. She can even now, given the proper state of mind and a bit of luck, reverse the effect and cause pleasure, but not yet consistently.

She is a moderately skilled martial artist, and practices a form of tai chi, relying on evasion, locks, throws and counter strikes that she combines with her pain casting.

Cailleach Bhuer an Ancient Heroine awakens after hundreds of years of sleep. Using her powers of water manipulation she creates an illusion to look normal to others. She goes about the land, as a displaced “Royal” and uses her ability to punish those who abuse Women and Animals. She also has the gift of Projective Empathy which she uses to help those who have lost pride in their homeland.

(Hopefully I did this right for the link, if not let me know.)

    Iron Heart

He was blinded due to being hit by lightning while discovering a hidden sword atop a cliffside. The sword gave him incredible power to control and create lightning through the electrical currents in his surroundings. This also allows him to “see” without actually seeing. The electrical pulses and static emitting off his surroundings allow him advanced sight and reflexes. They also give him a sense of incoming danger. The stored electricity, along with the power given through the sword, all Iron Heart to have superhuman like strength and deal powerful damaging strikes. He is a man of few words, letting his combative skills do the talking.
