Rules for posts, contests, and challenges: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. Please keep all submissions PG13: full or partial nudity is prohibited. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, Deviant Art or whatever);Do not use Photobucket.

  • Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
  • No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.
  • Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.

Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).

This contest will close at noon Eastern on Monday, August 27th.

    Here I chose Shock Gibson, the “interesting” thing is that he has 2 pages for him, as “hero” and “Nazi” a convaluted backstory and all but I decided to take liberty and do my own headcanon as a type of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde type character transformation.

    Im showing both the hero and nazi version of this character in one picture split down the middle. Mr. Gibson was a common soldier in the army when he went under a super soldier test to become the War Hero Shock Gibson!, however a secret Nazi spy infiltrated and added to the hero project a secret nazi sleeper agent. Making at random times Shock Gibson transform into a nazi lightning powered villian.

    I’ve created the Silver Age version of Ace’s Lightning:

    In 1947, ten year-old Ted Branson was on vacation with his parents near Roswell, New Mexico, when the first alien scout-craft of the Knurl discovered earth. A second alien vessel, piloted by an entity known only as the High Luminary showed up and a battle broke out between the two. The Knurl craft crashed. Young Ted’s parents were killed in the crash. The High Luminary, feeling guilty, transported the body up to the ship, and withdrew to the orbit of Jupiter, where for the next 15 years he educated Ted, before returning him to earth.

    The Luminary gave Branson a powerful gift, the Amulet of Transcendence. The Amulet, which he wears as a gauntlet on his right arm, grants him powers including super-strength, super-speed, flight, the ability to generate electricity and radiate “lightning heat,” and a measure of invulnerability (e.g., he can contain the explosion of a grenade with his bare hands). His powers can be recharged by electricity. He was given the condition that his powers would work only for good.

    See for the original Golden Age character.

    Brons: transported the body up to the ship

    That was supposed too be “transported the boy up to the ship”.
