R.I.P Cliff

It has just been brought to our attention that Heromachine Community member Cliff unfortunately passed away yesterday, December 23rd. Cliff was a wonderful member of the community, known as much for his exceptionally long and insightful comments as for his excellent machinings. It is a sad day to lose such a wonderful creator and he will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.

Rest in peace Cliff, see you on the other side dude.

Somewhere in heaven, a spirit that looks remarkably like a satyr has taken up the first ever pan-pipes made of stardust and begun chasing feather-winged maidens around the clouds to their screams of glee.

That’s just perfect, and I hope he’s having a great time doing it.
I’ll echo what everyone else has said about Cliff’s talent with the Machine, and I’m also going to miss those hugely long, wonderful descriptions that always accompanied his work. A sad loss, to be sure.

Damn, that is an utter shame. Cliff seemed like such an amazing guy, with boundless creativity (and occasionally, profound advice–as I found on one of my first entries on this site). I hope he’s happy, in whatever afterlife he believes in.

Condolences to Cliff’s family and loved ones. Cliff incorporated his satyr motif into Character Design Challenges and environments with flair and originality every time. He gave each of his characters much thought and distinct yet overlapping personalities. As we know by reading his extensive backstories.

Cliff’s designs were apart yet interacted in the same world. Though you couldn’t just substitute one for another like a Lego brick or a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. You had to sometimes contort and pinch them to fit the mosaic. Which was Cliff’s gift whether intentional or intangible. Making the audience find the crevices and nooks in order to see the vast woodland that his creations call home.

    RIP, Cliff.

First off, Condolences to Cliff’s family and loved ones. Second, I would like to propose that one of the Cdc’s be either create a bard or a satyr from now on… and I think that the rest of this could be summed up by Deadpool singing. ‘If we through a party,… and the card attached would say “Thank you, for being a friend!”‘

    Naaaaaah 🙁 R.I.P.

My boy chillin’ with satyrs in Heaven.

I can’t claim to have known Cliff very well, but the few times we did share a word, he always treated me as a friend. His creations within program were always a pleasure to see, bursting with his spirit and imagination.

  26. Herman Smellville says:

What an amazing tribute to a human being that he was able to touch so many people’s lives that he may never have even met outside of the electric aether. Pretty damn amazing and cool to see the sentiments here.

    Requiescat in pace.

  27. madilexis says:

To be honest, I haven’t seen much of Cliff’s work. Maybe none, I don’t know. But from what I’ve read, he sounds like a pretty cool guy. I’m so sorry to hear about his passing anyway. Rest in peace, Cliff. Have fun with the satyrs! (There seems to be a lot of talk about him and satyrs… I’m assuming he used them frequently in his entries.)
