Your Pop Quiz challenge this week is to design a Sugar Skull.
You only get one entry so be creative, and above all else, have fun!
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or whatever);
- Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
- The image must be new and designed specifically for the Pop Quiz;
- No copyrighted characters please – they will be deleted.
- Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).
This contest will close at 6pm Eastern on Sunday, September 4th.
I’m out of time, and this subject DOES deserve more–so I just missed doing Mother Theresa! This is another good candidate though.

Wow, sugar skulls are way too intricate for me to come up with a worthy design. However, I am trying to get back into HM’ing.
Abuela del Cielo
Wish i could mask more than one item to another tried to work around it with separate jaw and skull pieces but still lol

Mine’s a bit horror-ish themed.
Practice, experimenting/thinking outside the box, and looking at a tutorial when you’re stuck. That’s really all it is. Honest. 🙂
Fabergé Sugar Skull
a sugar skull(also called a calavera) made in honor of Peter Carl Fabergé

Xinmodic, That is a limitation of the program, but the workaround is using multiple items of the one you want to mask stuff to. In your case, for example, you would use multiple skulls, all in the same position, one on top of the other, and mask each different item you want to a different skull. Only the skull that shows on top needs to be colored at all.
Have a look at this:

There are 6 bodies in that picture, all exactly on top of each other, and each of the insignias is masked to a different one.
