The Secret Lair
Sold!
Looking up… Of course, compared to where it’s looking up FROM, that’s still damning with faint praise… 😉
It’s weird, everybody keeps grossly mispronouncing “Wally West”, it comes out sounding like “Barry Allen”, but the characterization makes it so obviously Wally. Hopefully they get that sorted out in the final audio mix…
@DiCicatriz- I thought that too. They also seem to think that Bruce Wayne is Tony Stark for some reason.
I’m stoked for it. But don’t mind me, I’m always stoked for DC stuff.
Did you guys catch the trailer for Wonder Woman?
Or to switch to Marvel for a second, how about the Dr.Strange trailer?
@DiCicatriz: I had to check my ears as well. Aside from Batfleck blowing his line, it’s how I envision Batman introducing himself at the same time proving his theory to the Flash’s identity.
@JR: He’s Batman. Plus, Lucius Fox is on his payroll.
@Worf: Yes, Wonder Woman looks good. Keeping her World War II backstory is an excellent choice. No doubt there well be misinformed comparisons to Captain America: The First Avenger for that. Mixed about Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.
Aquaman might at first seem Game of Thrones meets Pirates of the Caribbean. My thoughts went to a darker version of Popeye. If you saw the 1980s live action with Robin Williams, you might get my vibe. And it works.
Cyborg didn’t get enough screen time. The studio is promising big things for him. No Superman yet but, hey, there’s Wondie. Other than the usual nits, this trailer hit all the right notes.
Haven’t seen the Dr. Strange trailer yet. I’m limiting my exposure because I’m not caught up on the MCU. Then the buzz that Ghost Rider is going to be in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? What?!? Let’s save all that for a separate Marvel thread.
I’ll cover everything that was shown at ComicCon once I’ve got round to seeing all of it (not having been there for it all obviously). This just caught my eye first.
Fun. Maybe not as fun as Suicide Squad, but how could it be?
Atomic Punk, you might want to take another look at that trailer…
That’s not World War II!
THAT, my friend, is The Great War, the War to End all Wars…
World War I! They didn’t use too many biplanes in WWII, and I recall the uniforms,
especially the helmets, being more than a bit different… 😉
So, yeah, they’re making some SERIOUS changes to the backstory, and I really can’t tell you why.
Best comment about Cyborg I’ve seen so far:
“Cyborg looks like a damn Nvidia GTX graphics card.”
I might have tacked on an extra Roman Numeral there. However (comma), the trailer has that Earth-2 Art Deco feel. As HYDRA had super-tanks and intercontinental jet bombers in Captain America, Wonder Woman might also have a skewed timeline which allows for mixed period uniforms and technology. Though, it is hard for me to argue that trench warfare was a strategy used prominently during the Second World War.
