So, we did snowmen last week, what festive fun are we having this week? Well, if the title didn't give it away, I might as well say now. This week your task is to find a nice Christmas tree and decorate it. Presents are compulsory (what sort of Christmas tree would it be without presents), but I don't mind how you decorate it otherwise, you can go fairy lights, baubles, tinsel (joke: what do you get if you eat Christmas decorations? Tinsel-itus………….. anyway) and you can have either a star or a fairy on top. Just make it look good. Make it look like the sort of thing you would put up in your house for the festive season.
As per usual, no limits on entries this week and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). The winner gets to claim a custom made item from dblade to be put into heromachine, so long as the item conforms to his prize rules, which you can find here: http://www.heromachine.com/forum/the-heromachine-art-gallery/dblades-whiz-bang-item-dispenser/. Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post pictures and images that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
I’ve been hoping for this one.
I had asked how to do a Tree on the forums and was directed to a great one in a previous Santa Swap, but since I now know how to make objects bigger than 200% I took several goatee from 999 to 300% and used mustaches as the garland.
I started the top with some regular decoration, they added a Star of David for their Jewish Friends. It is also good luck to have a bird in your tree, hence the cardinal. You can see the kids helped decorate the lower part of the tree with a solar system, and as the fake fruit was added the little girl wanted a hot dog on it. 😀
You can tell from the presents there is a Mommy: the wrapped box, a daddy: “A blue ball” ala Christmas Story plus my dad really did bowl, a teenager: skateboard and weights, and little girl: dolly and teddy bear. Not sure if you can see the crumbs on Santa’s plate. And of course mistletoe from the ceiling.
This is our Holiday card for this year. We plan on going to Staples later today.
Sounds like someone might need a tinsel-ectomy! 🙂
Crud, going to ER,
hope to be back very soon.
This is Brenda, Cliff’s wife. They kept him overnight at the hospital and he hopefully is getting out today after his dialysis treatment. He had a lot of fluid on his lung and they removed a bunch of it.
Well everyone here wishes him a speedy recovery.
@ev1: How many people will get the movie reference?
@Cliff & Brenda: Good luck with that tinsel-ectomy and lung draining.
I made this tree a few years ago as a DIY tree, all the pieces were setting of to the side!
“I’m back home.
Had to tke 2 1/2 litrs out of my lungs.
Where is all the Trees?
I was hoping to see a virtual forest.
@Cliff- Hope you’re feeling better now. As for the trees, dunno. If we get one more entry I can at least run the poll. If not I’m calling it myself.
While I hope I’m not sabotaging my first entry, I did think of this tree.
the all time classic A Christmas Story! 😀
Ok guys, this weeks contest is now closed and, as we did manage to get 5 entries, the poll shall be up shortly.
This is the last CDC I have planned for this year, so next one will be after the new year.
