It’s so… textured. Like if it was 3D-printed or something.

I think it looks pretty badass. I’ve always been a fan of the shorter ears and they are super obviously going for the Frank Miller DKR vibe here. He’s built like a tank, which I love. Batman needs to be physically intimidating, not just theatrical. The logo is a bit clunky, but I’m assuming it’s to accommodate the S-shield in promotional materials, so meh, I guess that’s fine.

    I like it!

I generally try not to make snap judgments based on still photos of designs meant to be used in a moving film. There’s just too much more that needs to be seen and heard to know how it’ll work in context.

Having said that, the suit looks good, with a definite Frank Miller style “Dark Knight” vibe going on. Which makes sense, considering Miller’s “300” gave Snyder his biggest directorial break.

So, a provisional thumbs-up from me.

I also think this still image accurately conveys Ben Affleck’s acting ability — I get the same sense of emotion and action from it as I do when he’s actually on screen.

Both look promising. While I’m sure fanboys will have complaints and criticisms, (what comic book is without them?) I don’t see anything that immediately screams “oh no!” While there’s been plenty of mention of this version of Batman taking reference from the ‘Dark Knight Returns’ story, it appears those rumors are gaining more credibility with this; given the shorter ears on the cowl, bat symbol, and Batman’s stockier build. Though it appears he might be suffering from Bale’s issue in ‘Begins’ in which head turning might be a problem. For what we can see of the Batmobile, it looks like a nice blend of old and new. I still worry about DC as a whole trying to “catch up” to Marvel, but I’m still holding out hope for this film… or “S” as ‘Man of Steel’ would have us believe. So “S” for hope and not some other four letter word. 😛

While I agree with Jeff about the still photos of a moving picture, and I have bashed the Batfleck since the announcement, I think this is good. What we can see of the Batsuit and of the Batmobile looks very good and menacing. I like it. So far……

I’ll wait for the final result to pass judgement on wether this will be good, and I will say this will probably be the last chance Afleck has to make me a fan, but for now it is good. Gal Gadot is a mater for a whole different rant. 😉 :p

Regarding the car: I was never a fan of the bat vehicles from the Nolan films. They all looked a bit too Terminator Salvation for my taste. In my eyes the new car looks way better, though very little of it is shown.

  7. BurnedSmackdown says:

Looks promising I can certainly see more Batman than Affleck with that suit

  8. Arioch says:

I like that he’s going for another route than nolan. It’s a good thing IMO (and I loved the noval movies)

Crossing my fingers, so far, so good 😀

  9. Jack Zelger says:

I’ll avoid a long review and just say, I like it.

  10. Katmir Stone says:

I saw a tinted version of this as the classic blue and gray suit with the gold utility belt, but I bet it’s just the black and very, very dark graey suit. By the way, that Bat logo rivals Supe’s logo in size. Um, why?

  11. Jeff Hebert says:

I think you actually got the reason in your question — the logo size is to be a closer match to Superman’s latest movie version, since they’ll be on-screen together.

  12. Rexx says:

I like it,however I’d like to see a colored version of the suit before I say anymore.

  13. Herr D says:

Rexx got my objection; I hope this is just what you see through the fog or smog or something.

I think that there could of been a better picture to release. It is hard to see much of anything or know what’s going on here. I think “they” did that on purpose though. To keep people guessing or ease them into the idea of Batman’s Afflection. I have never been a big fan of this character, I loved bale as Batman though. I will always see Ben this way too.
