Poll Position: The Multiverse

This week on Poll Position I am asking you to select which of the following fictional universes you would most like to live in.

The Main Stream Marvel Universe

The Marvel Ultimate's Univers

The DC Universe

The Image Comics Universe

The Doctor Who Universe

The Harry Potter Universe

The Stargate Universe

The Star Trek Universe

Other: You can add your own selection to this poll, however I want this particular answer limited to Universes that Our own planet earth is featured in, thus no listing for the Star Wars universe.

Last week on Poll Position I asked which Super Group you would like to Join and by your votes the Winner of that Poll is .... X-Men beating out the Avenger's by a mere 2 votes!

It depends. If you are talking that we’d just be normal humans rather than superheroes (or wizards/ witches in the case of the HP universe) then I’d probably choose the Doctor Who universe and go travelling in the TARDIS. Though I’d probably get killed very quickly for antagonising the bad guys, I’d be a very sarky companion. I’d be very good at confusing Cybermen.

  2. CantDraw says:

I threw in the Asimov universe.

  3. Kicktar says:

I chose Star Trek, not because I like that universe, but because it seems to have the least likely hood of sudden death on a day-to-day basis.

I am going with the power gained in transfer, and go as a hero to DC! Seriously, being a normal turns you into a supporting character, making it not worth the trip!

    Make Mine Marvel!

  6. Farscape… 12,000 years of technology and living hyper-stylized baroque starships.

  7. Calvary_Red says:

Almost went with Star Trek, but my DC Roots won out. Like Keric, i’m amusing you get powers of some kind (or get recruited by The Bat). Really each of these require some assumptions, Living in the Star Trek Universe isn’t any different if you’re still in the 21st century, and very few humans even get to meet The Doctor, let alone travel with him.

  8. Kaldath says:

more or less since this is kinda a wish fulfillment type poll, make that wish any way you’d like, either powered, or non-powered!

  9. dblade says:

With powers, I’d go DC. Without powers I’d go Star Trek.

    Exactly.

    1) the poll only mentions living, not superpowers, so I think that’s out
    2) Even if you have superpowers, most heroic universes are violent enough (I don’t wanna spend my life fighting, nor lose family and friends due to some super slugfest), and similar enough to our own that the same problems probably exist (whereas Star Trek is an utopia)

Since I can’t add the Final Fantasy multiverse due to the “must include our Earth” restriction… This may be a bit obscure, but I’ll add the MOTHER multiverse. In case you’re wondering, MOTHER is a small RPG series similar to Final Fantasy in mechanics, but with a completely different theme. Unfortunately, of the three games in the series, only the second one, also known as Earthbound, was ever released in the USA, and at that, the marketing campaign for it actually included the phrase “This game stinks.” Therefore, it’s extremely obscure… but it’s still a great game. For those of you who play Super Smash Brothers, Ness and Lucas are from that series.

It should be showing now, I have to go into the polls settings and manually approve any additions you guys ad to the poll. Until I approve them they remain in the “other” category

  14. Herr D says:

I’ll understand if mine isn’t put up–no one’s written it. It wouldn’t even be very marketable if someone did. Too many people need conflict to enjoy a story. The universe of poetic justice would be utopic, as everyone would have a fair life and death, no one would need to fight unless they were a part of starting fights, and no Big Bads could ever truly surface.

–Because they’d never survive long enough to get that bad.

  15. Sean Murphy says:

If it didn’t include powers, I’d choose the Asimov universe, since he wsa a bit of an optimist and his universe is the closest to Utopia (no ‘Borg, no Founders, no Brother Eye or Sentinels…)

With powers, I’d choose the Antimatter Universe of DC. (The Bronze Age, or maybe Chrome Age Earth-1.) In a superhero universe powers force you to choose a side, and in the Antimatter universe the enemies (Lex Luthor, the Joker) are the ones with scruples…

  16. Calvary_Red says:

Well, someone added Pokemon, so that changes my vote.

Who could say no to this?

I went Trek, but I confess my DC side was almost as strong. 😉
