This weeks poll position I ask the question, "Who is the better Doctor?" A simple question it is likely not to have such a simple answer! I am limiting my "official" answers on the poll to the Three Doctors we have seen thus far on the modern adaption of Doctor Who, however I have left the poll open for you to add your own answers if you are an old school Whovian who just has to support Jon Pertwee, or Tom Baker, etc.

The Secret Lair
I don’t think we can say who is the best Doctor, but I personally loved David Tennant.
I had to go with Colin Baker. I know I am in a minority but I thought the motley and attitude brought something novel to the series.
Personally torn between David Tennant’s 10th Doctor, and Patrick Troughton’s 2nd Doctor. But I’m lazy enough to just vote for Tennant.
Tough call for me between Tennant and Smith. I think I like the writing better for Smith, though, so I’d have to say Tennant as an actor pleased me more.
Worst part about this poll, all the lost Doctor Who episodes. That would sway a vote or tow. I have been watching “classic” Doctor Who on Netflix. Maybe it’s just Netflix, but they only had one season of Tom Baker with my favorite sidekick Leela.
Worse, I started watching the David Tennant Doctor Who on PBS. Just as I was really getting back into it, my cable provider dropped PBS altogether.
I liked John Pertwee. He was very rye. William Hartnell was terribly British (in a good way). Patrick Troughton was so dumpy as to be adorable. Probably to offset himself from Hartnell. I know nothing of the other Doctor Whos.
So… I go with Tom Baker. Nostalgia and all that.
For me, it’s definitely David Tennant overall.
Out of the classic series, I gotta go Jon Pertwee. He’s the first Doctor I ever saw. He brought a lot of class to the role, along with ass-kickery.
VENUSIAN AKIDO! HAI!
*chop chop chop*
I liked them all. Really. The best for me are Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy in classic episodes. I can’t decide, which of new ones I like better.
Tom Baker is the Doctor, and that’s THAT!
But just to be nice, I’m sending a virtual jelly baby to all the Tennant fans. π
For what it’s worth, it probably makes HIM feel a lot better, given his rough exit from the show.
