Character Design Contest 24- Inhuman

Ok, for this weeks character design contest I want you guys to design something monstrous, something primal, something completely inhuman. No elves, dwarves, vampires (unless in bat form), angels or anything classed as a fantasy being or race. Trolls, ogres, demons and werewolves all count as long as they are as beast like as possible, but I want you to be as imaginative as possible, so feel free to make up your own creatures. No limit on entries, so go wild.

As with Hammerknights contests; rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings.

I always wonder in every contest if are creations need to be a new character or if we can use old?I really tend to think creating a character exclusively for the contest is a better idea. Can you clarify that for us? thank you in advance.

  3. JR19759 says:

I don’t really mind. Obviously if you have time to create a new character, then that is preferable, but if you don’t or you don’t feel particularly inspired then old characters are welcome. The only rule on this front is none that have been entered to a contest (pop quizzes and FNFs included) before. It’s up to you to check, because I’m not going to.

I really don’t know if I’ve already entered it in another contest but, in case I haven’t, here’s BLADESPHERE.

Some suggest that the quyren is an ancestor to both unicorns and dragons, but others dismiss this claim as heresy.

Ack, I didn’t use the right file name. I blame the raucous weather.

    Trying again:

And my second entry: I dunno where the HELL (literally!) this guy came from…

Entry 1: Tebby is the stuffed animal with the 100′ ear span. The alien child was not DIRECTLY encountered . . . complete with velcro boogers.

  10. Herr D says:

Entry 2. ‘Ambivalence’ is only understandable in that it always ‘possesses’ two creatures at a time. The two creatures are as different as possible. Ambivalence is powered by the amount of indecision felt by it’s hosts.

  11. Herr D says:

Entry #1: (sorry, forgot to rename Tebby’s file.)
The Two Explorers lived in the same world, but one searched below her depth while the other searched above her sky. They both found much of interest but never saw each other–and so missed finding their other selves, exactly what they would most have liked to find.

If there’s any question, the less human one is the one with the anchor earring.

  12. Herr D says:

Entry #3: Some packages may hold more than you bargain for. This courier makes me nervous.

    I’m NOT signing for that.

  13. Herr D says:

Entry #4: I never came up with the appropriately punny-sounding title for this piece which is a converse or contrapositive of the famous painting “American Gothic.”

But really, they’re a NICE couple just getting ready for dinner.

    Picasso:
He might’ve been human…ish at some point. Not so much these days, though.
