FNF Deadline Reminder

Hello Folks, I would just like to remind you all that the deadline for Friday Night Fight Submissions is Wednesday Morning at 7 am Eastern Time ( GMT -4:00 ). I so far have only 7 submission to the contest, if I do not get at least 9 more by the deadline I will have to call it off.

    Someone just enter!

  2. Frevoli says:

Come on guys, it’s some pretty fair criteria to stick to – 1 fantasy, 1 sci fi, 1 superhero/villain and then 2 open choices

I didn’t really have an idea until I though of giving them a shared motif, then I just made them fit in each category.

So you could even use of the Friday Night Fight themes suggested when Jeff was asking for ideas – Like using the Arthurian legend idea, but with a robot Merlin and a Superpowered Lancelot. Or Public Domain literary characters, with a sword wielding Dracula and an alien Sherlock Holmes.

Don’t worry about it, just have fun

    And you know… enter

So wish I could enter, just didn’t have the time.

  4. fuzztone says:

Here’s hoping you get enough entries. But if you don’t… it would be a shame to abandon the whole thing. FWIW, I think you need a two week period when getting characters in for something like this – one week isn’t enough and a one week extension doesn’t solve the problem (if you’ve not started, you’ve still only got a week!).

  5. NHA247 says:

2 more to go and im in!

  6. TOOL says:

I am just struggling to find time between work, kids, and my vehicles breaking down left and right.

  7. NateThePrate says:

One more and it shall be yours.

That’ll only give you 9 though. Damn.

Does the number have to be so high in order to make this work? Just wonderin’…

  8. TOOL says:

I got something in for this begining round

  9. Gene says:

Heromachine stopped working on my browser. Running updated Firefox, and updated flash. The app loads, but when I click on an item nothing happens.

  10. Kaldath says:

Sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you all today. I have just returned to work within the last week and have had a very rough time of it and I am in pain from head to toe right now. Anyway I am considering instead of calling the contest off if I do not get enough entries to instead restructure it so it is no longer a bracketed tournament and insteed have each and every round like the Play in round where those with the top votes move on to the next round. Let me know what you think?

I will pass this along to Jeff

  12. NateThePrate says:

What’s Play-In-Round mean anyway? Is this some kind of fancy American term like “Will Call?”

  13. NateThePrate says:

    Entry Sent. HUA!

Let me see if I can get this one clear in my mind, so you are proposing that each round all of the entries face off in one poll and at the end of the polling time the one with the lowest votes is eliminated. This is then repeated until we find a winner (very basically). That would work, but some things may need to be changed depending on the number of entries.

  15. Kaldath says:

The Normal FNF set up is a bracketed contest where the 16 contestants are paired off in head to head competition where the winner of each pairing moves on to the next round to be paired off against another of the previous rounds winners. If I do not get 16 or more entries ( the play in round would is there to get it down to 16 ) and get only say 10 ( I have 9 right now ) that I would pit all 10 against each other in a single poll and the top 8 would move to the next round, where the top 6 would move on, then the top 4, and finally the top 2 face of to determine the winner.

Thanks, but now I think it’s a problem with my browser….HM3 seems to be working in Chrome ok……Haven’t tried IE yet. I did notice that in FF< all of my old save files were missing. May be a local issue :

Yeah, I don’t trust keeping all my files on the browser.

What I do mate, is save the text for each creation to my computer. Notepad works for me and I usually just save them individually. There’s a lot of text, so you’ll wanna go “Crtl+A” then paste it in.

You will have to replace the text whenever you want to save a change, but you’re creations will be that much safer….

    Alright my characters are in!

  19. NateThePrate says:

    Yay! How many is that?
