When last we left our intrepid Lone Wolf, we were deciding whether to leap off the ship in hot pursuit of the evil warlock who's been plaguing us, or to jump ship. We voted to visit the watery depths, resulting in:
Kraaaaaaaaaaaan!
Kraaaaaaaaaaaan!
Ahem. Having regained our dignity, we now turn the page. Things get pretty intense from here on, so I'm going to step aside as narrator and just show you what happens.
And that, my friends, is that! From being rolled by a bunch of gap-toothed fishermen-turned-pirates to gambling houses of ill repute to stabbity stabbity dark priests to naval warfare and talking rats, we managed to luck or fight our way through every obstacle. Congratulations on a fight well fought and a tale finally won!
Let me know what you thought of the adventure, whether you'd want to do the next one, if you'd rather try some other CYOA story, or if you would prefer something completely different. Thanks for playing along all this way, it's been fun!
I say we do the next one. I want to see what kind of crazy hijinks Lone Wolf gets into with the Sommerswerd. Maybe he will stumble upon the legendary Wontershald and Spronghulm to complete the set.
I’d prefer a break from Lone Wolf and start a new Choose Your Own Adventure. We could always go back to Lone wolf antoher time.
I would have liked to have had a daring battle against Lord Zagarna. But then again, we did have an uber weapon of mass destruction in our hands. Why couldn’t we have faced Vonotar during daytime hours? We could have blasted him before he got away in his teeny tiny rowboat!
I agree that a change of pace would be good, but I would like to come back to the next installment of Lone Wolf some time later.
But you would want to keep doing CYOA types of things on Thursdays going forward? Or some other RPG type of thing?
Added some new features to my review page. Kind of want to see which titles you’re most interested in. There’s a poll up there. Feel free to comment on it if your title isn’t on the list of those I review. http://mcknightsreview.blogspot.com/
Another RPG type of thing.
I say do another CYOA, with then intent of going to the 3rd Lone Wolf story eventually. Maybe you could do it as a poll?
HOLY Plot Device, Batman!
How about giving the entire CYOA series a wide berth, and maybe go with an old Tunnels and Trolls adventure, or something of the sort?
Or, we could share our writings like we did about a month or so ago. That could be interesting.
Well, I enjoyed the adventure, and this time we got a decent final lol.
I definitely want to play the third chapter, but it doesn’t have to be right now, another CYOA would be good, but also another RPG type thing would be interesing.
Cool, we won! I could have done with a major battle against the uber-villain instead of nuking him, but….
As far as going forward I could go for either. CYOA or other RPG thing…. Just don’t ask me to write stuff as I’m not very good at that.
@William A. Peterson(8): What’s a Tunnels and Trolls adventure?
@Jeff(4): My bad. I vote for more CYOA.
Thank you for the entertaining adventure and all those great comments along the way. Although the plot seemed thin at times, the unavoidable bureaucracy lessons, the absurdly twists of fate that made life diffucult and the huge, for me personally at least, disappointment of discovering that ‘Booty Walk’ was nothing as it sounded like, in the end it all put a smile on my face.
And I will miss.. Well, I’ll probably miss the flirting giant rat lady and her delicate whiskers the most. But who can forget all those times where our proud and brave hero chose to run away and loot corpses. A true hero we were!
I would like to return to visit our friend Lone Wolf – who knows, maybe next time we’ll be protecting our first hatch of furry offspring, or Booty Walk will actually be a place worth revisiting.. But it doesn’t have to be right away.
Taking a break from this cowardly fool… I mean, brave hero and trying out other sides of our combined fantasy hero persona would perhaps do us good. So I vote for more CYOA but necessarily the third Lone Wolf book.
Thanks Hunter-Hunted, I’m glad you enjoyed the commentary π
Oh, the commentary makes the experience, never doubt it.
I seem to recall the last time we strayed from Lone Wolf we were pretty disappointed. Unless that was a fluke, maybe we should stick with the Wolf.
I apologize ahead of time for my non-answer, but I’m really cool with whatever. I definitely want to go with the third book of Lone Wolf, but whether that’s the next thing we do, or sometime down the road, either choice is fine by me.
I am interested in suggestions in both CYOA and non-CYOA RPG options. What do you people have in mind?
I’m definitely down for another CYOA, Lone Wolf or otherwise. And the commentary has been the part I look forward to the most. Very Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Wow, back in the country just in time to finish out Lone Wolf! I feel oh so lucky. As for where to go, I’m actually pretty thrilled with our victory, so I’d love to dive into the third. Perhaps rotate the third book on Thursdays with open critiques, or a rotation of Lone Wolf-OCD-writing share, as someone mentioned above me. That way we all have little chance of getting tired of one feature or another.
