Patriotism means feedback

I'm going to announce the finalists for the Patriot Contest later today, but I wanted to give people a few hours to look at the submissions and leave feedback here regarding any standouts they see. So head on over to the PhotoBucket slideshow, and let me know which one(s) you think should make the finals.

  1. Dude says:

I like the last Lady Liberty, Constitution, and the American Enforcer.

  2. nate says:

I’ve never commented on any of the posts before, but I couldn’t stay silent on this one. My picks are Britannica, Greenpeace, and Golden Fleece (hey, cool. that sounds kinda singsong-y)

  3. DJ says:

Captain de Libertad,Britannica,Constitution,Silent Dragon, US Arrow and US Ranger. Yes I am whoring my three…<_< DONT JUDGE ME! 🙂

  4. Jeff Hebert says:

    Thanks for speaking up, Nate!

  5. nate says:

No Problem, I’m very excited to see who wins

  6. Jester says:

I like Steel Patriot, Condottiero, Lady Liberty (Veronica Miles one), Britannica, and Silent Dragon.
Of course, I like my three (Liberty Bell, American Enforcer and Liberator), but I think they’ve been trumped by the above mentions…

  7. Cory says:

I really like MY three, but Star Spangled Banner was funny (the green hulk with stars) and the homage to Julius Caeser with Milandred was nice too, there were alot of creations that werent very original…but, hey, its anyone’s game

  8. Rick says:

Gotta go with Super Fly for the comedy, Britannica for international, and lady Liberty for American. Dauntless is one of mine, but after looking at others I can see how he can be looked at as unoriginal. Oh well!

  9. TheNate says:

My picks are Canada (the horse won me over), Indian Elephant, and Celtica.

(no, I’m not that other nate who posted above at #2, but I submitted Miss Liberty, Uncle Sam, and Abraham Lincoln)

  10. Cory says:

Actually, Rick, I thought Dauntless was pretty good…and it wasn’t really just the way some people looked…but power sets too…I mean, not EVERYBODY can be strong, invulnerable, and fly…and I think that the back story should define the winner, because..isnt THAT what makes him/her patriotic in the first place…so, therefore, Dauntless is very original…

  11. DJ says:

Except this wasnt about back stories Cory it was about costume design. None of mine have back stories.

  12. Rick says:

Thanks Cory, I agree with the backstory being that important.

But I laughed out of my chair when I saw Super Fly, no story required!

  13. The Doomed Pixel says:

I find it slightly ironic that the one of mine that I thought was really good is the only one of mine NOT mentioned in here…
Just goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

  14. DJ says:

    Which one was that Doomed?

  15. Kaldath says:

Wow .. I have to say that anm Glad people seem to like my entries as all three of them have been mentioned Multiple times here (Constitution, Brittannica, and Lady Liberty).

Now excluding my own creations the ones I like are: Condottiero, Golden Fleece, Canada, US Ranger, & Celtica

  16. The Doomed Pixel says:

To DJ: That one was Fleur de Lis, of France.

    Basically a French Wonder Woman.

  17. The Imp says:

I really like Brittanica (and I predict a win for it 😀 ), also Celtica and Super Fly (Sam Jackson for the movie version, of course.)

  18. Tejas says:

    i like him too.

  19. Whit says:

I had a third one that I never posted, that I’ll post to my UGO thread (IndigoEagle’s Further Creations). I didn’t like the story I developed around it, so I didn’t post it to the contest. I’ll post the pic to the thread, and maybe the story later. Also, I should post the story for Simba, which makes the character make a lot more sense.

  20. The Imp says:

I can’t hear the name Simba without thinking of The Lion King. Damn you, Disney, damn you.

  21. Whit says:

Simba just means “lion” in Swahili. And since that’s about all the Swahili I know…
