Another Facemaker update

I've updated the FaceMaker applet with the following changes:

  1. Added hover text-tips for the buttons to show what they do.
  2. Added a "color hair" button that does the same thing for hair, mustache, and beard as the "color skin" button.
  3. Changed the color of the item slot boxes to match the other buttons' color schemes.

The last two big things to do are to a) add the preview boxes over on the right (bleh) and b) get the final "skin" designed and implemented. Should be relatively soon!

The “color skin” button works for me, but the “color hair” doesn’t…

Hmm, it’s working all right for me. You have to be on one of the “hair” items (Hair1, Hair2, Mustache, or Beard) for it to work the right way.

Both skin and hair-color buttons work here.
Thanks for adding the hover text-tips, very helpful!

Thank you for adding the skin colors, the old ones weren’t quite right. While trying to make better ones in custom colors, I noticed that there is a problem with them, you can’t make any lighter colors, you can only use darker ones.

Also when it is first opened both male and female are selected rather than all items.

If that is the interface that is going to be used, I would suggest moving the features near the previews with the default being one of the face shapes.

Is there any way a face from “Facemaker” could be put on a character made in “HeroMachine” ?

Level, the lighter color issue has been mentioned previously, I’m not sure how to resolve it other than introducing either a saturation slider or manual hex number entries. Or both. Not sure I’ll get to that in time. I knew something was weird with the initial gender box selections but I couldn’t tell what, but now I see it, I’ll get that fixed.

Danny Beaty, you could in theory do a screen capture of the face and paste it onto your HeroMachine character manually in Photoshop or some other image editor. Down the line, with HeroMachine 3, I would hope to have all of the same items brought in so it would be a moot point.
