We have noticed there is a problem uploading text files to the forum, so I had Jeff look into it and he has figured out what the issue is and has found a work around which he posted … HERE

So if you are trying to upload a text file such as the a Heromachine character text string, check out Jeff’s post on the matter.

I was having problems uploading TEXT files for Custom Backgrounds and Companions. For some reason, the “View Existing File Uploads” button does not work in the Custom Items Archive Forum. It works in this Forum as well as my personal Forum. So I simply copied and pasted the links. While trying to figure out why TEXT files were not loading, I uploaded duplicates. Anyway to delete the dupes?

Anyway, for the time being, there is a workaround. I edited my posts in the Custom Items Archive to include the TEXT files. You can find them in Backgrounds and Companions. Enjoy! http://www.heromachine.com/wp-content/legacy/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif

I am not sure what was causing you to have problems adding your text files to your backgrounds, however I just added a background of my own and did not experience the problem you did. What browser are you using ? Also can you try again to add a new file to the custom item forum and see if you are still experiencing the same problem ? If you are or if anyone else is having this same issue please let me know right away and I will bring it to Jeff’s attention.

With firefox don’t work with me. I don’t see my txt file in the content folder. So i make a try in explorer but there not allow me to upload anything. So i don’t know wich is the problem next time i try out with chrome.

I was using Chrome 10 and tested with Internet Explorer 8 as well. I’m on my work laptop now (IE 8), so I don’t have any new files on hand to test. However, I can see my uploads in when I click the “View Existing” buttons on my work laptop.

Maybe it’s a setting inside my home laptop. Or, maybe problem has been fixed? I can’t seem to replicate the error. Odd and relegated to a minor nuisance for me.

Well I did report the issue to Jeff earlier today and saw that he was on the forums for a while afterwards so perhaps it was fixed, or just a momentary gremlin in the system!

Recently Some of you have been letting me know that you have been having problems uploading text files. I have been informed that even though the files are smaller then the listed limit that the site is not allowing you to uploading claiming the file size it to large. I have spoken to Jeff about this and he has increased the file size limit to hopefully address this problem. If anyone still can not upload a picture because it says the file is to big please let me know in this thread or via PM right away.
