News around the Web

Hey everyone! I know I said I'd be back with a review for Godzilla, and I will get that out. However, work has been quite busy this week and then we got the news dropped on us that our con, for which we've been working our butts off (as you've seen) to get ready for, has been 'postponed until 2019' with no other information other than that. So, needless to say we've all been in a bit of a funk of disappointment since. I haven't even watched all the SDCC trailers and news yet. So, instead we're going to have a look at some fun things.

1.Star Wars Ep. IX

News out of the galaxy far, far away is that filming begins Aug. 1st, with several returning cast members. These include Billy Dee Williams, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Now, I know what you're thinking, how do we have Carrie Fisher? They said they would neither recast nor CG Leia in. Well, seems they are going to do so through unused footage shot from the previous two films. How that all is going to work is still obviously up in the air, but hopefully it will give the character a proper conclusion.

2.Godzilla: King of the Monsters Trailer

This is the sole SDCC trailer I've actually watched so far. And... I squeed a little. There's some really gorgeous shots here but my favorite hands down, especially in conjunction with the music, is where you see Mothra spread her wings through the water. And I love Rodan having the bits of magma either still on him or as part of him. The only complaint I may have was something the other half pointed out; a lack of proper Godzilla roar to end off the trailer. That would've been the perfect cap-off, but they cut the G-man off before he could really get that iconic roar out.

3.Judas Priest Music Video

Every day is a good day for some Judas Priest. It's an extra good day when you get a new music video, this one for No Surrender from the Firepower album. Everyone's seen this kind of video before, where the band is jamming together, but it's nice to see it from such an established and esteemed one as Priest. They also look like they're having a good time and it's all really chill. Then it's interspersed with the cover art's robot flying around (I tried to find it's official name but came up short and of course the CD and case are in the car). Love it.

4.Lords of the Trident

So I discovered this band two days ago because they did a song with Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers. And it's pretty cool. And they have a song on their newest album inspired by Diablo I and II. And that pretty much sells it for me.

5.Atomic Heart Trailer

What is this? It's like Fallout and Bioshock had a bright, sunny baby via Metro. It's totally bat***t crazy. I'm so in.
