The premise of this contest is that over the next number of weeks we will build a team of superheroes and a team of villains. Each week I will supply you with a role, name, or list of powers of one of the team members and you will use HM3 to create the character. The winner each week will win a version of their character created on HM by yours truly
Your challenge this week is to design the mystic member of the villain squad - Dr. Amanda Peterson – aka The Emerald Sorceress. Having always been fascinated with world religions, Amanda was researching the Voodoo religion while working toward her PhD and became possessed by the malevolent spirit of a powerful ancient witch. As her psyche was slowly absorbed, Amanda lost herself eventually to the witch’s vengeful spirit. The transition from Amanda is telegraphed by her eyes turning a vibrant emerald green.

I have a character who kind of fits the description, but if I change her costume colours she’d look like some kind of St Paddy’s day mascot.

I am expecting the Emerald Sorceress. If that means dressed in green to you then by all means do that. What I am looking for is a character that is a kick @$$ villain.

The malicious evil spirit of The Emerald Sorceress is so strong that it constantly emits itself from the body of Dr. Amanda Peterson. Emitting a dark cloud of evil energy all around her. She has full mastery over her spirit powers allowing her to form objects and spawn demons. And due to the spirits mastery of voodoo and and Amanda’s knowledge of mystics from other cultures and religions The Emerald Sorceresses is on her way to becoming the Ultimate Sorcerer in all the world!

Centuries ago, in a time now lost to memory, a cruel witch-queen rose to power. Known as La Sociere D’Emeraudes she became so powerful and so malevolent that the combined might of the world’s mages, magic users, and wizards united against her. What ensued was a holocaust so horrific as to stun the darkest imaginings of mankind. In the end, the witch-queen was subdued but she was so powerful and her spirit so caustic she could not be destroyed utterly. The eight surviving wizards, known thereafter as the Octagon, imprisoned the witch-queen in a pocket dimension and used what remained of their eldritch powers to create and seal the portal to the witch-queen’s prison dimension. In their final act the Octagon divided the portal into eight separate pieces and carried them to the far corners of the world to be guarded for all eternity such that the witch-queen could never return to power. Thus did magic by and large disappear from the world.
In the early 21st century, an ambitious researcher, Dr. Amanda Petersen, was investigating the history of Voodoo and occult occurrences in New Orleans. Unbeknownst to Dr. Petersen she came upon one of the eight portions of the Octagon portal in the possession of a wizened old man. Dr. Petersen became intrigued by the artifact to the point of obsession. Despite her efforts to acquire the artifact the old man would not part with it. In a fit of unprovoked violence Dr. Petersen murdered the old man and unleashed a portion of the witch-queen’s malevolent spirit which immediately took possession of Dr. Petersen’s body and spirit. Thus La Sociere D’Emeraudes or the Emerald Sorceress gained a foot-hold back into the world of man. Now she seeks the remaining seven portions of the Octagon portal so that she may free her evil spirit in its entirety and return in full to establish her dark dominion over the earth once more.
