A Taste Of Japan: May 2016 Tokyo Treat Small Box

Hello fellow machiers. Yesterday I made a post inquiring weather you all would be interested in an unboxing and taste test of the Tokyo Box subscription and while there were not a huge number of replies, what replies I did get indicated some interest and since my first box arrived today I shot a video along with my Roommate April for your enjoyment.

If you enjoyed this video let me know and I will do more each moth as the new boxes come in.

  1. Maybe the seaweed should have been strawberry flavoured? Might have tasted a bit more interesting right? 😉 Also, I wouldn’t recommend trying out one of those DUI kits in the future. Drink Responsibly kids!!!

One thing I will say is, HOW THE HELL DID YOU EAT THAT GREEN TEA THING (I’m not even calling it a brownie, it was green). It looked like a hardened lump of slime. I wouldn’t have even stuck it in my mouth to taste it, let alone swallow it. The chocolate too? And I’m with you on the fish thing, that description sounded dreadful.

Oh and as a final thought, if possible, might be an idea to move the camera further away so you have a bit more room to show the food.

  2. I think I will be using my mac book next time instead of my iphone. I used the phone this time because I was bit lazy. The phone was in my pocket ans my mac was upstairs in my room >:)

  3. If you could buy any of the items from the box by itself, would you?
Maybe on the next review you and your friends can do a buy or not for each item.

And @ JR19759 I think that “Green Tea Brownie” look like something not as nice as you said.

Of all the items in the box, depending on the price I’d likely buy the gum as it was the best thing in the box. the only other thing I might buy would be the curry chip. I think I will not even be trying any other fish flavored snacks in the future. I don’t like fish and the one in this box actually brought me close to vomiting when I tasted it.

  5. It was interesting to watch ‘prepared snackers.’ Having your milk and water ready was obviously the right call.
