Character Design Contest ♯140- Getting Emotional

Okay guys, going all kinds of throw-back here, well, for me anyway. On the suggestion of Sabrina on last weeks CDC suggestions blog post, we're going to revisit the theme for what was my third contest in charge of the CDC's. What I want you guys to do is create a character or abstract piece that represents an emotion. It can be any emotion, so joy, fear, anger etc. but you can only portray one per picture, unless you're doing ambivalence, in which case, good luck.

As per usual, no limits on entries and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

Already got one made (didn’t submit in a contest before, just FYI).
Rage. The pure embodiment of anger and malice.

Depression is a creature that feeds on your happiness…your soul…your life. It controls you, holding you back and dragging you into its void of emptiness and darkness.

I made this one a while ago – I never entered it in a contest, but it was featured as “Also Awesome This Week” on a COTW contest – not sure if that counts or not.

It’s the feeling of being haunted – whether that’s literally by ghosts 😉 or figuratively by past regrets, mental illness you can’t shake, a great loss, etc.

    @Geno- COTW isn’t a contest.

I am surprised to realize I apparently HAVEN’T entered my character ‘Ambivalence’ anywhere.

Imagine a pandimensional creature who lives between two creatures at any given time, drawing potential energy from the differences between them the way potential energy exists in an object that could fall between two heights. The side effect of being half-possessed would be near paralytic indecision and ambivalence. This would be the reason that an affected individual ‘loses steam,’ does nothing, et cetera. Experiencing some of the other affected individual’s life/feeling puts each one in a more dormant state of being, while the creature is no longer dormant. Presence more common at intersections and between two nearly identical objects.

His name is The Depressinator, he has a cape made out of tears; his super power is saying things so depressing that villains basically just give up out of depression.

A lot of negative emotions here… Well, I’m no different. Sad Memories:

    Entry #1
my first thought was this one …. FEAR!
    Entry #2

But I thought there would be lots of fear, hate, etc
so I decided to do something more …. me.

The reason I am so late entering … This week I had a Heroes binge to watch all of Season 3 and 4 before Heroes Reborn started Thursday night.
In 4 days I watched 42 episodes AND the 6 webisodes of Heroes Dark Matters and made it before Thursday at 7PM where my wife and I watched the 2 hour season premier.
The ironic thing is it was one year to the month, that I first binged on Heroes Season 1 thanks to JR and his Everyday Heroes character contest 🙂
Thanks again JR, was a heck of a ride. 🙂

After turning ideas around my head all week, I finally made something work. This piece went through a couple of name changes, and could probably reflect one of any number of emotions, depending on how you see it. I went with Fearlessness.

Ok guys, this weeks contest is now closed. The poll will be up shortly.
