Open Critique Day #H21

It is time again to share your art with us.

My new rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings.

Nice Viking! Only thing I can see to make any suggestion about is, given the beefiness of his arms, his legs look a little on the skinny side.

  2. TOOL says:

I could tone the arms down some but I was going on the pretense of highland people living in higher altitude and running though the rocky hills would have high endurance and need to be agile, so the long skinny legs, and stronger arms from swinging long claymores. I may overthink some of my characters lol

Oh I had a question to the higher ups, I asked before but dont remember the answer. I made a Captain Ahab character, would he be considered a copyrighted character since he came from a novel and not a comic book or sorts where theres a more recognizeable and used visual persona?

I don’t know for sure if Moby Dick is Public Domain or not, I will have to check. If it is public Domain then it is free game, if not then not!

  5. Kaldath says:

Just Checked online and Moby Dick is the the Public Domain, therefore is NOT copyrighted.

Cool, I will still keep him in my folder marked My Versions Of Other Characters but thats good to know. Heres a look at what I came up with.
