Actually, I must say this is a step in the wrong direction Jeff. I liked the fantasy feel of all the others, and I just wasn’t really into the drawing. Sorry Jeff.
Melissa has a good tutorial, certainly saved the best for last! Which, of course, led to another tutorial. (Have got to stop walking straight into those traps.)
The shading stages definitely show what separates a beginner with an experienced artist.
Personally, I like the exterior lines to be more of a solid black, instead of colored like that. It seems too washed out that way. But still a good pic! …And this guy really should’ve paid more attention back in high school… 😀
Of course he’s a newsboy; did you see his hat? Only newsboys wear hats like that.
