META: Ice outage

Texans don’t like ice, and neither does our internet equipment. I’ve been forcibly offline the last two days due to a “wintery mix” that sheathed my wireless broadband antenna with ice, hence the lack of posting. My apologies, but I should be back to normal now.

Well, you know, as normal as I get, anyway.

    Jeff,
Glad everything is ok. Not much ice up in the DFW Metroplex.

    You from Texas, Jeff?

Yep, about an hour NW of Austin. Blink and you miss it, but it’s home. I plan to one day write a country song about it titled “Just East of West Texas”, just after my mega-hit “She’s a Whole Lotta Woman for a Little Bit of Man”.

    Yeehaw!

I lived in a small town here NAMED West. It was hard to get magazines subscriptions.

    Sister:”Address is 437 Whatcha St. West,Texas”
    Person:”And the town name?”
    Sister:”West”
Person:”Not the direction. Name of the town.”
    Sister:”The town is named West.”
    Person:”Oh…okay.”
