Holy Horrific Backplanes, Batman!

I’ve now added a “Backplanes” slot to the HeroMachine Horror Mini Beta, available here. It includes the holstered shotgun, bat wings, man-bat wings, mechanical wings, extra arm, and a few other items from previous versions.

  1. The link don’t work.

  2. Thanks for the alert, Fabien, I’ve now fixed the link.

  3. You’ve forgottent tails (scorpion, lizard, clubbed etc…).

  4. I’m already over the file size limit. Adding more items is going to be problematic, and none of the reference material for this client had tail stuff, so …

  5. Hey I was over at that factory of heroes website, I speak a little spanish but not a lot of Portuguese but it says something about being closed or something. I don’t know if anyone speaks Portugese. I don’t use that website a lot, but I have given it a try. Anyway if anyone wants to check it out

  6. Shoot, Ballin’ Boy, looks to me like they’re ready for their first update of their new system. So far it’s just one model, so I hope they keep their old system up too.

  7. Yeah, I’ll admit he has some cool art, I especially like how sharp the lines are especially with the swords which look really sharp. But I like this one better because of the ambiguity of the objects. Things can be used for things that they weren’t intended for, which allows for more choices. Everything over there is like what you see is what you get, which is kind of limiting. But I’m not dogging the other site, it’s cool too.

  8. I think the great thing about his site is how consistent the design is across all the elements. Everything FITS, and has a definite, identifiable common origin. It’s a very stylistic choice, made easier of course by basically copying the Bruce Timm playbook.

It definitely works and is something I am trying to figure out how to do as well, to make everything look like it all fits together. I think I am closer on that with the latest round of Minis but there’s still a ways to go.

  9. The head sections still do that weird thing I talked about on the last post. Only the Head section however. The others are fine.

  10. @collex: it might help if you gave a bit more information as I am having no problems what so ever with the head items in either of the new mini’s. I am using IR 7 and Flash Player 10. Are you using the same configuration or do you have either a different web browser and or a different version of Flash Player installed ?

  11. When I mask the katana the tip disappears. Plus you need a shotgun and a chainsaw.

I thought the items in the warrior mini were a little lacking. There were no silenced pistols to indicate sneaky special forces soldier, no assault rifles to indicate a grunt, no submachineguns to indicate S.W.A.T. team members, and no sniper rifles to indicate snipers. I just think the items are important because they say the most about the character.

  12. hmmm, good question Kaldath. I don’t know. How can I check to see what version I have? But I tried it on two different computers and it had the same problem

The problem is that when you select a head item, put it on the character, then click dupe than go on anotherpage, the dupe will turn off by itself and when you’ll try to go to the previous page, this page is now blank.

  13. Will it be possible to mask more than one item on top of the same item? And will it be possible to mask one item with another item of the same catagory?

  14. You can already mask one item in a slot with another item in that same slot. It will not be possible, I don’t think, to use the same item as a mask for two different things.

  15. Damn. I can’t double mask on either the warrior or horror minis. Must be my computer then.
