Goldwing: A tech-based hero with flight and blasters.
There’s only one critique I’d have with the new version, which is that the ring on her left index finger is rather large and looks a bit unwieldy. But other than that, the pose is better, the shading looks much more natural, changing the lightning and energy for a circle keeps the focus on the character rather than immediately drawing the attention away, which is good. I love the use of the cape as a skirt to match with the pose, I like the custom top and the broach looks really cool. I also agree on the face being much better, she looks much more serious and badass. My favourite bit, however, has to be the wings. The effect you’ve got on them doesn’t distract from the rest of the character, it’s very subtle, but when you do notice it, it keeps the attention. Great work.
Well, it’s about time I posted this.
A while back, I decided to redo my first real attempt at shading:

This was the result:

Honestly, I really liked how it came out. Looking back, I realize that at the time, I didn’t really have a good grasp on how light sources worked, and don’t get me started on item usage. My posing has gotten much better, and my faces have become more varied in expression than just a default “meh” expression. I’ve also gotten better at using the lineart on the items like suggestions rather than set-in-stone barriers, and being able to create custom items. One thing I still need to really work on, though, is small details.

I admit I jumped right on this one– I’m finishing up a Shakespeare capstone course and love it to death, so I got really excited when I saw the contest.
My entry for the Shakespeare CDC from Richard II:

Anyway. I’ve had an interesting last couple of days. Yesterday I managed to take the skin of half of my right palm so that was fun (’tis but a flesh wound) and meant I had very little movement in the hand I use to do pretty much everything. It was also quick amusing trying to take a shower this morning without getting my right hand wet. Luckily, my fingers do work. But judging by how many times I’ve had to correct typos on this post, they don’t work that well. Word of advise, doing what is basically a baseball slide is fine, so long as its not on gravel and as long as you don’t have your hand under you at the time. Actually, best not fall over at all. Because in a fight between you and the ground, the ground wins every time. And now as a segue, I’ve redesigned Sempi again for reasons.

The Order of Blades is a secret brotherhood of mercenaries and assassin’s. The only requirement to get in are that you have to be good with a blade.
Xephrin, known as the first blade, was the original master.

Thanks for nice words, DR and LSword. Your comments really filled me with determination (and that is good!). Anyway, not sure when i will made another anything, so… Yea, thanks.
