@JR19759: TY! I’ve been trying to figure out how to do a piece from this angle for a min; ended up using reference pics which I linked here: https://www.heromachine.com/forums/topic/just-my-machinings/page/3/#post-143202

@Christi S- That is amazing perspective work. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen perspective that good on Heromachine.

@Suleman: Thanx so much! Believe it or not, this was actually a fairly simple pose, though a lot of masking was involved in fitting the clothes to it; you can see the basics of how I did it here: https://www.heromachine.com/forums/topic/show-your-work-progress-of-a-design/#post-143197

As with the portrait, reference pics really helped. I’ve been wanting/trying to do a piece with this perspective for a while but couldn’t seem to figure out how w/out it looking awkward until I googled “aerial view of woman”. These two stock photos made figuring out the placement/proportions a lot clearer:

Rick,

I just took another look at Death’s Lament. That is a serious improvement! I think the hood looks so much better now.

Rick,

The concept is interesting and you have worked the lines and overlaps well. The only comment I have is the gun is too small. This guy is huge. He makes that .44 look like a ‘Noisy Cricket’. I would either choose a larger gun or use the transform page to make it bigger like Hellboy’s Samaritan. Don’t forget to increase the size of the holster as well.

I’ve had my eye on this thread for a while; actually picked up some good tips from yall!

So, seeins I finally have a piece I saved frequently enough to SHOW my progress, thought I’d do a post!

Started off with the base pose, using insignia shapes to mask a couple items:

Then added clothes/accessories/details, using a LOT of masking:

Next I colored Everything:

Then added gradient patterns:

Added shading and highlights:

For finished product: hid the masking shapes and finished the scene with a couple accessories and a shadow.
