Assistant to SRC’s Head of Supernatural Research Professor Richard May, Sam Matthews has had more than her fair share of experiance with the dark side of the supernatural. When she was 15 she was sacrificed in a Satanic ritual by her uncle, who wanted to use her body as a vessel to bring a powerful demon to Earth and gain enormous power. The ritual was only a partial success however, whilst Sam’s body did become host to the demon Berith, the demon slew her uncle and quickly disappeared, as the summons had been performed incorrectly. The upside is that Sam’s soul was returned to her body by the demon and her death was undone. This had the somewhat unusual side-effect of making her unable to permenantly die. She can be killed, but, due to the demon’s influence, she will likely be up and about again fairly soon. She can still feel pain and she doesn’t heal any faster than a normal human so she tends to stay away from certain death situations as much as possible. That hasn’t stopped SRC from making her a reserve field opperative for the organisation, only being held back by her lack of combat experiance and general clumsiness when under pressure.

I was reading an article about Overwatch recently (Yes, I’m still obsessed) and it mentioned a rumour that says the game may be getting a monkey/gorilla hero. While Winston is obviously already in the game, I really liked the idea of a little monkey character running around shooting everyone in the face and it reminded me of a character I created a while back.

Spider Monkey, the mercenary/assassin/all around psychopath has been lurking in my mind for a while now and saw a brief incarnation in DC Universe Online where he creeped out everyone else in Gotham and Metropolis.

The Overwatch article. whether it’s true or not, inspired me to give one of my favourite bad guys the look I always wanted him to have.

So here he is, ladies and gentlemen. The thoroughly creepy yet somehow still adorable…Spider Monkey.

Thanks and Lancer can only make spears and only of that particular shape, however she can use them for other purposes and adjust the length of the pole. A common thing she’ll do is use them to help with gymnastic fighting techniques (pole vaulting, using them for a spinning kick, etc.). She also can use them to do things like climb buildings by using the spears as climbing picks.

Here is a contest entry, a white mage. In this world, there are several magical orders, each order signified by a color. The black order represents darkness and death, the red order represents fire and anger, and so on. The white order represents life and light and is in a constant struggle with those of the black cloth. This is a standard white mage, an adept with light spells such as the orb of blinding light he is creating here.

While most people have never heard of the sand dust controlling bandit known as Dust Devil, he’s notorious in Nevada where he and his gang once terrorised a small town for months. They effectively took over, with Dust Devil using his powers to threaten the locals into submission. Dust Devil set himself up as a small time dictator until Hellion breezed through town and showed him what a real devil looked like.

Since then, Dust Devil has popped up every now and then to rob people travelling through Nevada and has fought several masked heroes but he has made a point to steer well clear of Hellion, who he is now utterly terrified of.

@HerrD- In a way, yeah. Either that or he’s just prematurely grey (dude is meant to be in his late 40’s/ early 50’s so the silver fox look isn’t exactly unreasonable).

Anyways, my entry into this weeks contest.

Born in a land far to the south, Aya Ishtar is a priestess of an ancient and powerful Goddess. Her people are gifted with great and powerful magic through their faith and Aya’s faith is strong. Conducting her Goddesses power through her divine staff she can summon spirits to fight for her, cast out curses and perform powerful spells against those who would dare harm those she cares about.

A remake of Icarus, who badly needed a new look.
For Astral, my suggestion would be he’s available to heroes to bring them intel for a price. He makes his agreements while the heroes are dreaming only, so no one can catch him. (Doesn’t even need a costume that way!) His price would be, say, for one hideout location: three donations of eighty meals each to any soup kitchen within a certain radius. Two down, one after. Steep, but no one complains–they think of it as philanthropic. No one realizes that people who are drugged are extra vulnerable to him. He actually has a few alcoholic homeless people eat at one donation and collect meals for him at another. They have no memory of delivering the meals later. The man who projects the identity of Astral greatly reduces his grocery bill–always has a few meals in his freezer from these donations.
That’s an interesting story.
