Prowler redesign.

The last version was a little too monotone so I decided to add at least a little more colour. This is actually a lot more like my original design for the character.

CDC- Ice, Ice, Baby

I went with Snowman: http://pdsh.wikia.com/wiki/Snowman

I didn’t change anything about the character’s backstory. It says he was a statue most of the time and protector of an Inuit-like people so I made him more location-appropriate as an Inukshuk. I did take liberty with the arms, but he needed some kind of arms to fight with.

As a Canadian, and one who lives in a place that’s occasionally colder than Mars and/or The North Pole, I appreciate this contest 🙂

Yeah, we’ve had enough problems with copyroght in the past without doing this, sorry. Having lightsabers and random star wars-y items (wookie head masks or twi’lek horns) is about as far as we’re prepared to go with that one, because at least then it’s like “those items can be used in loads of different ways”, but having an entire version based on breaking copyright? We don’t really want to risk it. Even doing vaguely star wars themed contests is risky and we don’t want to push the point too much. If you want to create star wars characters, there are items that you can use already in place that should give the desired effect, as I said (just so long as they don’t end up on the forums here, we have the no copyright rule for a reason).

For the record, I finally had some time to go scouting for ring-shaped items. Here’s what I was able to come up with:

Magnifying glass – ItemRight > Miscellaneous
Halo (skewed) – Headgear > Fantasy
Monocle – Headgear > Glasses
Target shape – Background > Shapes

I think I like the monocle best since it would be easy to mask it onto a simple circle shape and get rid of the extra stuff. The magnifying glass isn’t bad either if you can overlook the extra bit there where the handle attaches. The halo would be pretty good in its original form if you were looking at the rings from a steep angle, but trying to turn it into a circle distorts it a lot. And the target rings could work if you used the innermost ring and cropped the rest.

Love the shading and the colour scheme on the Champion of Restoration, it really works well.

You’re off to a very good start.
