Pam’s powers manifested themselves one day in the halls of Caligo Central High School. A boy was harassing her, trying to steal her books. In a mixture of fear and rage, her body created a forcefield around her. The boy was propelled into a row of lockers and carried off in a stretcher. Pamela didn’t know how to de-activate her forcefield and thought she was stuck underneath it. But then the Defenders arrived, a team of superheroes led by Defender. They calmed down the girl and helped her to de-activate the forcefield. They then asked if she’d like to go with them to the Defenders secret headquarters.
The Defenders trained Pamela to gain control of her forcefields, but also discover that she could become invisible and intangible herself. When she had mastered these abilities, they recruited her onto their new team of youngsters, the Junior Defenders. Pam’s mentor is the superheroine River.

As to how… I use reference photos for poses/lighting pretty frequently. N I do a lot of masking stuff onto duplicate body parts and insignia images that I hide behind the background but keep the masked item in the foreground. And when it comes to using the gradient backgrounds for shading/shadows/highlights/etc. I use the (often later hidden) lines of the pieces I’m putting them over on as a guide and/or the lighting of reference photos as a guide. And I layer them and mess with their opacity until it looks right.
N yes, some patience is involved with that but also like… I rarely do a piece in one sitting. I’ll work on it here n there over the course of a week or so usually because yeah… not THAT patient lol.

Late response but as no one’s answered yet…
There’s a scabbard and also a sword IN a scabbard in the Backplane-Standard section.
There’s a belt with a scabbard sheathe and also a sheathe with a knife IN it in the Belt-Military section.
Other than that… in the ItemRight-Blades/Blades 2 categories there’s a bunch of sword/knife parts, like blades w/out handles that could be colored and positioned to look like scabbards. Or you could just use things from the Insignia-Shapes section to make up your own from scratch.
Those are the approaches that come to mind for me least.
