The Complete Changelog can be Viewed Here Minetest, the Minecraft-like voxel game engine (and a basic game that comes with it) comes with a new version out with Minetest 5.4.0 and it's worth a second go. As we have already mentioned during the Release Candidate stage of the release, this version makes it easier to modify small mod packs as well as complete games. Minetest had a way to browse and download them all directly within the game for a while however, it now will also actually download all the dependencies mods require - making it vastly easier to get what you want , and later into a game. There's no need to download one mod, then finding all the pieces it needs. MINECRAFT JAVA Some improvements were made to the built-in game "Minetest Game". Although it is quite basic it can be used to show off the engine as well as to add mods. Minetest 5.4.0 now comes with a crafting guide, five more wood variations, and environmental sounds for active furnaces and lava, and a variety of bugs fixed and translations. It continues to grow slowly and steadily into something that is a bit bigger from the box. Other new features include the cross-hair changing when you point at objects, the ability to bind mouse buttons, name tags for players now have a semi-transparent background there's a caverns option for the flat map generation The place and 'fig' keys are now configurable as well as a variety of modding enhancements and plenty of bugs, like stopping players being able to accessing inventories of others. Image Minetest 5.4.0 with some tweaks. It's amazing to witness this open source and free game engine and game working extremely well. Going by the official server list, looks like a large number of players regularly play games with Minetest, with multiple hundreds online at the time this article goes live - awesome! Full changelog can be found here. Find out more on the Minetest website.
