Minecraft Maker Mojang Plans Spin-off Game Minecraft creator Mojang plans a spin-off game 18 December 2014 Mojang, the Minecraft maker is launching an off-shoot game inspired by its block-building game. Minecraft Servers Minecraft Servers The game is dubbed Minecraft: Story Mode, it is an episodic game that takes place within the familiar Minecraft world but will introduce new characters to the setting. The game is being made by Telltale Games which has produced numerous other episodic games. The first episode is expected to be released in 2015 for consoles, PCs, Macs and Android devices. It is unclear what the experience will be. Mojang has released a short game that is based on a browser called Info Quest II to explain what it could be like. In a blogpost Mojang stated that the game will be developed with assistance of the Minecraft community. It was designed to ensure players that Story Mode is not violent and bloody like previous Telltale games. Telltale's most recent titles include Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us and games based on Game of Thrones and the zombie-themed thriller The Walking Dead. "Telltale's Minecraft-like game will be similar to Minecraft," stated Mojang, "though it is a completely unique take on Minecraft that is influenced by our game." Mojang has released the final version of its Scrolls card-based magic fighting game. Then, the news about Story Mode is out.
