ajax6893ParticipantWell, I’ll be posting my first creations here (They’re not great but they work for my purposes). Any feedback is welcome!

ajax6893ParticipantThis is Mithring, one of my Pathfinder RPG characters. She is a Dhampir Scorcerer (but she has no idea about the Dhampir fact, she just know that weird things keep happening around her.) who was raised among Elves. At an early age she was cast out of her village and has been travelling ever since. She has a hard time trusting anybody, including herself. (EDIT: Thanks JR for mentioning to read the forum rules, I usually read those first but I didn’t this time, I don’t know why. It cleared up my question on copy-right.)

Here is my first experiment with Hero Machine, all I did with this was edit the female fantasy warrior a bit and add a few things (A question on this one: are the hand choices [number six on female for right and number seven on female for the left] for this one not able to mask items?)

StulteParticipantCool! Can’t wait to see more from you. I’ve never played Pathfinder, myself, but I’ve heard good things about it.
Some (most?) hands can’t have items masked into them. The closed fists and the pistol grips always (?) work, though.
Also, you may want to save your images in PNG format, not jpg. Makes for cleaner pictures.

ajax6893ParticipantThanks for the info on the hands. I just realized that I’m not making a profile picture so I don’t even need to put it into jpg format.

ajax6893ParticipantHere are the two pictures in PNG format.

Herr DParticipantFeed back: when playing with alpha, especially on energy effects, you should probably experiment with transparency on the outline a bit more. If masking isn’t going to give you the effect you want, sometimes you can ‘build’ the effect. It is usually more work. Like hiding things with ‘patches’ or Insignia/Tech colored to blend in. Or building small pieces of items out of very small items. I seem to remember adding a hemline made out of flattened sickle blades and crescent insignia and making a ghostbuster stream emitter wand out of a flattened chainsaw. Keep experimenting!
