Before there was light, before anything, there was a darkness.
A deep black void of nothingness that reality would come to occupy.
Light cast out this darkness but it still remained.
It crept into crevices and cracks, into every fiber of every being, into the spaces between.
The darkness remains and shall always remain.
The darkness came before all and it will fall after all.
