Antonio DelaCortez was a research chemist working in Spain when a secret chemical formula he and others were working on spilled and its unstable nature set the lab room on fire. Antonio’s GorWol trait manifested to save him and he walked around the fire not knowing what happened. The fire raged out of control, due to Antonio’s careless wandering and soon consumed the entire research laboratory. ISF deployed a team to contain the fire when it threatened a populated area and the Spanish firefighters and emergency responders could not contain it. The teams initial reaction to seeing Antonio walking around the facility in a confused state was that he was a super villain, but after Genie read his mind it was determined he was innocent, and he was recruited into the ISF. Taking the name Torcher he participated in many missions until one mission in Uganda, during the Meta War, where the Dark Cabal helped the Lord’s Resistance Army create a thermo-nuclear bomb Torcher was the only ISF member present who could absorb the energy the bomb was going to detonate. He did so but fell into a coma. He stayed at the ISF medical ward for two years almost dying during the Dark Cabals assault on ISF Headquarters. He awoke from his coma a year after the Meta War and started to adjust to the new ISF as a reserve team member. Torcher is a pyrokinetic and can control ambient heat energy and the physical ability to envelop his entire body or portions of his body with fiery plasma without harm to himself. Torcher is unaffected by heat and flames, including his own, even when part of him is aflame and the rest of him is not. He also has good resistance to other attacks and can absorb thermal and radiation energy in limited quantities. He can project flame ranged attacks out from his body and his touch when aflame, burns upon contact. He can create simple fire weapons and can burn his immediate area. He is able to fly at speeds up to 200 mph when enflamed. He cannot control fire or heat.
