Jana Kovanski was a young IT specialist working at an office in Walzbrych, Poland near the border of the Czech Republic. She spent her days fixing computers and reprogramming printers and her weekends enjoying the night life. Unbeknownst to her, her name was on the list of possible GorWol candidates Dr. Dimento stole from ISF computers during the Meta War. Dr. Dimento sent Skulljagger and Kyton to retrieve her so he could either manifest her trait and code it or kill her if she proved to be useless. ISF leaders MEGATEK and Stargazer found out about Skulljagger and Kyton being in Poland and sent retired ISF members Vargr and Vikka to investigate. When the Dark Cabal members cornered Jana at her place of work, Vikka and Vargr attacked. In he ensuing battle Jana’s nitrokinesis manifested. Confronted by Skulljagger she caught him off-guard and punched him through a wall. He later remarked she was a cute little powder keg of a gal. Jana helped Vikka and Vargr drive of the Dark Cabal members, then helped them rescue trapped civilians in the wreckage. Skulljagger had an opportunity to carry her off but he didn’t for unknown reasons. Jana then traveled to ISF HQs where she was given training and accepted associate membership under the name Powder Keg. Jana is a nitrokinetic. Unlike Nitrogal, Jana’s nitrokinesis is similar to Bronco Billy’s. She gained super strength (25 ton range), thick skin and bones providing good resistance to attacks, and super leaping ability from her leg strength. Unlike other manifesters, Jana did not have a tremendous increase in height having gained only two inches to her 5’2 frame. She stands 5’4″ and weighs a stout 150lbs. Jana also secretes nitroglycerin from her hands which she unleashes in melee attacks increasing her punching damage. Gunslinger quipped that she punches above her weight class.
