Willkommen, MithrilFrog! One “trick” is to appreciate your own designs. There are HeroMachiners that are amazing at shades and highlights (referred to as “zypping” after the master). I am no good at it as much as I try. That being said, again, don’t beat yourself up. There is a lot of inspiration around here. The point is to have fun and share. You’re off to a good start. Keep at it and keep practicing your zyp technique.
