Kaylin is a member of the a nomadic tribe, the Palia, who learned the ancient tongue from an elder and then went to study at the University of Gnoseon. He found old prophecies that seemed to talk about a past event and was studying them when he received a letter telling him that the prophecies would come true soon, and to find the Messenger in the City of Missing Horses.
