No, I am not a strange visitor from another planet, I am not the last son of a dying world… But what do you call yourself when you wake up one day and find you are faster than a speeding bullet? More powerful than a locomotive? Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Able to change the course of mighty rivers?
For a while I used the S word, but while I can fight off an alien swarm, I found that I could not defeat the lawyers from Warner Communications. I used The Super Man for a while but that just wasn’t right.
The papers called me The Hero Formally Known As Superman for a while.
Now, a few have started calling me Ultra man, but every time I hear that I think of a silver giant fighting monsters that look like guys in rubber suits.
This is what the event did to me. It gave me all the powers of my all-time fave comic book hero. Even gave me the ability to mentally summon this suit into being. Too bad it didn’t give me the ability to come up with a cool name.
