His power is to become the consistency of a cloud, intangible to his foes, but able to float, move through any opening, no matter the size, and cover a person in darkness. Cumulus’s real name is Derrick Abernethy, a college student at Ford University. Derrick was walking across the campus one day, unshielded from the heavy thunderstorm above. He was also surrounded by a low, eerie fog, making it almost impossible to see where he was going. He wandered around for a good fifteen minutes before he finally reached the steps of his class building. But just before he made it inside, Derrick was struck by a bolt of lightning. But instead of electrocuting him, the lightning softened the molecules of his body, and allowed some of the fog to waft inside him. From then on he has been able to become a cloud in human shape.
